Finally!
Jamie and Eddie’s marriage has fallen by the wayside, but Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 6 fixed that.
They worked together to get to the bottom of who posted nude photos of Caitlin O’Brien, and it was just like old times.
Jamie and Eddie’s case was easily the most interesting storyline of the hour.
As soon as Caitlin’s father showed up all freaked out about nude photos of his daughter online, I knew there had to be more to the story.
I was sure Mr. O’Brien had violated his daughter’s privacy somehow, but I didn’t expect her to have posted revenge porn herself to try to frame her ex-boyfriend.

Anyway, tying it into Eddie’s history was a nice bonus.
I was glad that Eddie put aside her initial irritation with Jamie’s request and talked to Caitlin.
Although Caitlin’s claim turned out to be false, Eddie’s comments about it not being her fault if someone posted explicit photos of her without her permission were important for viewers to hear.
Eddie was empathetic and honest about her own experience, which got the ball rolling on this case. This was one of her more enjoyable interactions with a witness.
And to make it even better, she and Jamie were on the same page about what was going on — no silly arguments like they’ve sometimes got into in the past.
The case was also the focal point of the Sunday dinner, leading to several interesting conversations.
Sean’s anecdote about the classmate who disseminates pornographic photos so that nobody will learn that her dad hits her was one of the highlights of the conversation. I would love it if we met this girl later on!

Caitlin was not the only troubled teenager on Blue Bloods Season 10 Episode 6.
It was so long since Anthony took Sam in that I forgot all about him having a foster son.
Anthony’s treatment of Sam was unimpressive.
Sam: Hey! I was on the final boss.
Anthony: I’m your final boss.
It didn’t make sense for Anthony to make applying to work for the NYPD a condition of living with him, and it made even less sense that Anthony was surprised when Sam took off after that.
Anthony didn’t try very hard to find Sam, either.
Why was he hands-off about Sam coming home but so insistent about what Sam needed to do with his life?
It turned out that Sam couldn’t read. Um… okay. But what was the point of that revelation if Sam is going to wander off and not be seen again?
But where was Sam living once he left Anthony’s? He seemed to spend all his time in front of an apartment somewhere.
Sam: I’m good.
Erin: You’re good? Walking around, breathing, just surviving, that’s your bar?
Sam: I set my own bar. I ain’t gonna be no cop.
Erin was right to call Anthony out for his lack of effort when it came to looking for Sam and equally right to try to track Sam down herself.
Anthony felt she was overstepping, but he was doing nothing and someone had to try to do something for Sam.

Meanwhile, Danny was wrong about who killed his victim – boy, was that refreshing!
As soon as he started that “Reagan is right again” crap, I predicted he was going to have to say that Baez was right this time.
It was a good thing Danny figured out what was what before Richard Lockhardt got to Winston, too.
This is the problem with vigilantism.
When someone decides that the cops aren’t doing enough to take care of a bad guy and takes matters into his own hands, innocent people can get hurt.
And in Richard’s case, he’d already committed one murder and was caught moments before he committed a second one.
Now, in addition to his daughter being gone, he’s thrown away his reputation and his freedom.
Frank’s dilemma resulted in one of the most bizarre reveals ever.
This was one of those cases that wasn’t as exciting as it sounded from the description.
It was a conflict over accounting, and those aren’t entertaining, especially when Frank often deals with officers’ decisions to fire their weapons and other lifechanging events.
Don’t kill the messenger. I talked to Austin’s old partner, by which I mean I made him talk.
Gormley
The initial meeting with Austin about this probably would have gone more smoothly if Frank had met with the guy one-on-one in the first place.
Gormley and Garrett were both antagonistic towards Austin, accusing him of theft and of defrauding the NYPD, which got them locked into this back-and-forth where Austin insisted he had a right to the money and they insisted he did not.
The truth about how Austin got injured was one of those stories that was so weird that I’ve no doubt it actually happened to some officer somewhere.
It seemed silly, though, and perhaps was meant to be comic relief during an otherwise serious episode.
