CIA – Black Tie Optional – Review : Down To Party

I think this episode of CIA has been my favourite of the whole show so far. I loved every single aspect of it but most of all, I loved being able to see Bill and Colin really lean on each other and know that they can trust each other when put in serious situations.

Episode one Colin and Bill would not have been able to cohesively deal with the undercover op going wrong and it’s so fun to see where they are now.
One of the best things they have done that has bled from the first season is having an overarching storyline. I enjoyed the mole storyline last year but I’m definitely more interested in what happened with Bill’s dad and Felix Vincent. It ties everything together so well.
The past couple episodes, Colin has seemed very in touch with his emotions and it’s been so great to watch. Even if he does use jokes to get through his feelings, it’s wonderful to see a stoic man’s emotions portrayed on screen.
Bill is also really going through it this season, I did like him questioning if he should really be looking into his dad’s past or not. I do think there is a level of grief that he is looking into his dad because he’s no longer alive.
The set up for Bill’s father’s watch was so good, normally I see it coming but when Colin found the chip it made all the more sense why it was mentioned that Bill had it at the start of the episode.
The suspense of what Bill’s dad was doing and why Felix went rogue makes sure that I am tuning in each episode. I can’t wait to see what they uncover next!
