Sydney DiMera has been off-screen for way too long, and Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-07-26 promise to finally bring her back.
But the spoiler video introduces her in the strangest place, to people who have little to do with her, and I can’t quite figure out where this is going.

Could Days of Our Lives’ Sydney Be Leading a Double Life?
Sydney was last seen as a bubbly little girl who had as much of an attachment to Nicole as to Sami, which Sami was determined to stomp out of her, so there’s no telling what she’s like now.
According to EJ, Sydney just earned an MBA and is also set to become a lawyer—accomplishments he was proud of, although Belle hoped Sydney didn’t follow in his footsteps in other ways.

And yet the spoiler video has Gabi and Philip running into Sydney in Monte Carlo at the poker table, where she appears to be their chief rival.
This game is supposed to be dangerous and hush-hush, so what the heck is Sydney doing there?

Obviously, EJ either knows or doesn’t know what Sydney is actually up to. So one possibility is that he approves of her doing seedy things or is actively encouraging them for his own reasons.
With EJ, anything is possible.
He could be plotting to turn their daughter against Sami to get revenge for her leaving him, using Sydney as a spy to find out about the Italian billionaire Sami is engaged to, or simply manipulating Sydney to block Philip from regaining control of Titan and ruining EJ’s other revenge plans.

It’s equally possible that EJ doesn’t know anything about what his daughter is doing. After all, he supposedly wanted to go to Italy to visit her, but she isn’t there.
That could be a cover story because he wants to know what Chad and Belle uncover about the chess set, but he also might be genuinely surprised that Sydney is in Monte Carlo and not know that she’s at an underground poker game.

If that’s the case, it’s possible that Dante — who is supposed to appear the week after next — is the one who put Sydney up to this.
She also could be investigating the game. Maybe she’s ISA, like Cat.
You never know who’s up to what on Days of Our Lives, after all.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-07-26 include more intrigue around the missing ring that EJ inherited from Stefano.

I’ll be mad if this leads to a recast of Stefano. In my opinion, it would be disrespectful to the memory of Joe Mascolo to give another actor the role a decade after Mascolo’s death.
I don’t think that’s where this is going, though. Days of Our Lives is trying to make us think that while getting ready to introduce some new villain.
This entire chess set mystery story is weird and convoluted, which is one of the reasons it’s my least favorite story of everything airing right now.
The premise is ridiculous. Stefano’s death was years ago, yet his will was first read now because they were waiting for proof he was dead.
And to add insult to injury, since John is no longer with us, the trap Stefano laid for John and Marlena is now being put into place by someone else and is ensnaring Chad and Belle.

Surely, that wasn’t Stefano’s intention when he bequeathed the chess set with a missing pawn to Marlena.
This silly mystery story has spawned an equally ridiculous subplot: Rita stealing the ring Stefano left to EJ, for reasons that are as of yet unknown.
Rita has always been loyal to the DiMeras and usually acts like she’s in love with EJ.

Unless she’s in cahoots with Susan to reduce the ring’s influence over EJ, which is unlikely since she doesn’t see Stefano’s influence as a bad thing, this story doesn’t make sense.
In any event, Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-07-26 promise that some mysterious guy will end up with the ring — probably the same person whose hand was seen manipulating that chessboard and spying on Chad and Belle.

The hand appears to belong to a young person, which is neither here nor there.
With people getting resurrected and aged or deaged at a moment’s notice, the ring-wearer could be anyone at all.
Some fans have guessed that the person wearing the ring is Johnny, but that doesn’t really make sense.
Although Johnny seems to have a hard time setting boundaries with EJ, he wouldn’t go as far as to try to become the new heir apparent to Stefano’s legacy of evil mixed with charm.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-07-26 offer few clues as to who this mysterious person is, though. Perhaps one of the people Rolf supposedly stopped trying to resurrect is secretly alive.

Meanwhile, Joy suffers a setback soon after demanding that Stephanie not be allowed within 10 feet of her baby, which is likely to make it harder for her to get the help she needs with her medical condition.
Chanel undergoes her latest procedure, too, and hopefully will have better luck than Joy.
