Kate Chastain has been firing zingers since she first touched down on reality TV on Below Deck Season 2.
Since leaving the Bravo hit in 2020, she’s brought her competitive streak to shows like The Traitors and, more recently, House of Villains.
On the Peacock series, Kate has become a major target, but thanks to her back-to-back Supervillain wins, she keeps prevailing.
As House of Villains Season 3 heads into its final episodes, Kate has to navigate jury management and figure out how to weaken Tyson.
Early in the season, her nonchalant energy let her fly under the radar. Now, with numbers dwindling, she’s in a tough spot. One wrong move could end her game, and my enjoyment of the show as a whole.
Kate knows the house dynamics like the back of her hand and understands that Tyson sees her as a major threat. Her consecutive wins have thrown his plans into chaos, leaving him grasping at straws.
With Christine, Tom, and Tyson on her Hit List, she aimed to survive with the least blood on her hands.
Ideally, she would have wanted Christine to win a competition to remove herself, leaving Tyson and Tom vulnerable. But the cliffhanger on House of Villains Season 3 Episode 8 forced Kate to break a tie between Christine and Tom.
Earlier, Tom tried to repair his fractured bond with Kate, a move that could sway her to eliminate Christine instead.
Kate Has the Opportunity to Change the Dynamics on House of Villains
Christine hasn’t done much in the house, and after Kate avoided nominating Drita or Tiffany, she was the obvious choice.
In hindsight, Tiffany probably should have been on the list. Her explosive confrontation with Kate at the party proved she was a threat.
Tiffany is aligned with Tyson and Tom, so keeping Tom in the house makes Kate’s path forward much harder.
Her best move is to cut Tom and hope Drita wins Supervillain. That would give Kate a clear shot at Tyson, her longtime target.
Keeping Tom would leave her facing a three-person alliance of Tyson, Tiffany, and Tom, which is a nightmare scenario.
Kate has played a smart, unpredictable game and seems aware of these dynamics. But she’s taken pity on Tom before, and the editing hints she might do it again.
If she does, Tom and his allies could dominate the rest of the season.
Tyson is cutthroat, Tiffany isn’t afraid to verbally destroy competitors, and Tom has been working hard to shed the “worm with a mustache” label from his Scandoval fallout on Vanderpump Rules.
He has rebuilt some fan favor on The Traitors and maintained a relatively clean game in House of Villains, but keeping him around could still be Kate’s biggest risk.
Ultimately, Kate’s back-to-back Supervillain wins have given her the leverage to control the house if she makes the right choices. She’s playing a delicate game.
One misstep and her competitors will send her packing.
But if she plays strategically and cuts the right person at the right time, she could finally take the crown she’s been gunning for all season.
It’s high-stakes, it’s tense, and it’s exactly the kind of gameplay that makes Kate such a compelling player to watch. I can’t wait to see how all of this plays out!
