The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Is Unraveling — and It’s Happening Fast

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been my guilty pleasure since it premiered in 2024.

Four seasons in, it isn’t slowing down, and after scoring another bumper renewal, there are questions about what comes next.

Hot on the heels of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 4, and with Taylor Frankie Paul about to step onto The Bachelorette, there have been some big shifts over the last few days.

Multiple reports have surfaced alleging that production on the reality TV hit’s fifth season has been paused following a heated exchange between the show’s leading lady and her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.

TMZ has been reporting alleged details over the last few days, and it all sounds rather rough.

Reality TV thrives on chaos, which is why Taylor has been front and center since the beginning.

So how bad does the situation have to be that the cameras are not up, capturing every moment of the fallout?

According to reports, the rest of the cast is reluctant to film with Taylor right now and wants some distance given the severity of the allegations.

The cast appears to want more clarity before filming with Taylor because what’s been leaked to the press may not be entirely accurate.

There’s Much We Don’t Know About The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives BTS Drama

It wouldn’t be the first time stories about celebrities have surfaced, only for much of the reporting to miss the mark.

But as we witnessed at the end of Season 4 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the ladies aren’t in agreement with much of Taylor’s behavior.

After it seemed she slept with Dakota the night before she was supposed to leave for The Bachelorette, the cast wondered why she was on a dating show if she was hung up on her ex.

For now, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is on hiatus, and ABC is putting all of its marketing muscle behind The Bachelorette.

But the entire situation has to have ABC and The Bachelorette executives questioning whether now is the right time to premiere the show.

There’s already been backlash about her casting, and this situation has likely drummed up even more interest in both properties, making it, sadly, a win-win for them.

Away from the Taylor Frankie Paul of it all, it seems like one Mormon wife is about to walk away from the show.

Whitney Leavitt has been leveling up ever since the series debuted, and it seems like she’s broken away from the show.

There Are Options to Switch Things Up

She’s moved to New York and is dominating Broadway, so it’s no surprise she’s hinting that her time on the show may be over.

Whitney has been vocal about only returning to the show for Season 3 because it allowed her to audition for Dancing With the Stars.

If these opportunities are on the table, why are people getting mad at her for returning?

It’s wild, but Whitney has blossomed into a bona fide star, and her time on the show is over. I’ll follow her to her next projects.

Beyond that, if The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives moves forward, it would be best to make Miranda McWhorter the focal personality.

Miranda was late to the game and arguably should have been the lead on The Bachelorette rather than Taylor.

She’s actually looking for love and seems way less chaotic than Taylor, which makes it surprising she isn’t getting the same opportunities the others are.

Either way, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives may be coming undone, and I don’t know whether there’s a path forward with Taylor.

What are your thoughts on the situation involving Taylor and Dakota? Do you think it was wise to halt filming, or do you believe that everything should be on-camera?

What’s your take on ABC acting like these allegations aren’t out there? Do you think it’s the right time to proceed with The Bachelorette?

Let’s keep the conversation going — it’s the only way the good stuff survives.
