Press Release
The CW has decided to renew “Wild Cards” for a second season, keeping Max Mitchell and Cole Ellis on the case, as TVLine reports.

Season 2 will feature 13 episodes, an increase from the 10 episodes in Season 1, and is set to premiere in 2025. (You can check The CW’s complete Fall 2024 schedule here.)

So far this season, “Wild Cards” has averaged 892,000 viewers and a 0.1 rating in the demo (including Live+7 playback). Among the eight new or acquired dramas aired by The CW this season, it ranked just behind the now-cancelled “Walker” in total audience and was third in the demo ratings.

A co-production with Canada’s CBC Television, the romantic procedural stars Vanessa Morgan (known for “Riverdale”) as Max, a con artist who unexpectedly finds herself solving crimes with demoted detective Cole, played by Giacomo Gianniotti (known for “Grey’s Anatomy”).

“We are thrilled to order a second season of The CW’s breakout series Wild Cards,” said Liz Wise Lyall, head of scripted programming at The CW. “Wild Cards has clearly captured the imagination of our viewers thanks to exhilarating storytelling and the crackling chemistry between Vanessa and Giacomo. We are confident Wild Cards is the kind of smart and sexy blue-sky drama that could continually build its audience for years.”
