
Adam Remsen is the talk of the Jeopardy! community right now. He has won six games so far and will compete in his seventh game on Monday, June 22.
So far, the champion, from Memphis, Tennessee, has won a total of $124,502 within those games. On the show, he introduced himself as an attorney and theater producer, but we’re breaking down his jobs, as well as his game show experience, relationship status, and more.
He has had five out of six runaway games so far, despite missing most of the Final Jeopardy questions. Remsen qualified for the Tournament of Champions this season, competing against a slew of multi-day champions.
On the Jeopardy! Substack, Remsen told executive producer Sarah Whitcomb-Foss that it “feels terrific” to be a six-day champion. “I certainly didn’t expect anything like this. I figured I would come in, hopefully win a game or two, but given the caliber of the contestants that you always see on Jeopardy!, it seemed a little presumptuous to expect anything like this.”
The contestant self-defines as a “bon vivant,” which is a sociable person who has cultivated and refined tastes especially with respect to food and drink,” according to Dictionary.com. Previously. Sam Buttrey also defined himself as a bon vivant as well.

Job History
According to Remsen’s LinkedIn, Remsen is a Staff Attorney at Regional One Health. He has held his position since February 2025. Regional One Health is a healthcare system providing accessible, efficient, quality healthcare for individuals in the Mid-South.
Remsen also founded the Quark Theatre company in 2015. He is the co-founder and president, along with his wife and Tony Isbell. He oversees all business and legal matters. Before that, Remsen was a General Counsel, a Procurement Specialist, and an attorney at many other firms.
His Education
Remsen earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from the University of Georgia in 1994. One year later, he decided to get his Masters in the same thing from the University of Memphis from 1995 to 1997. Remsen then took some time off, and returned to school in 2004, also at the University of Memphis to study Law, where he got his doctorate in 2007.
Studying law goes hand-in-hand with studying Latin, which he said helps with Jeopardy!.
Remsen’s Relationship Status
The contestant is married to Louisa Koeppel, with whom he founded a theater company. According to an interview they did on StoryCorps, they share one son together.
What He Is Using His Earnings On
During the interview with Whitcomb-Foss, Remsen shared that he will use his earnings to fix up his 100-year-old house. “There’s always something falling to dust,” he said. Remsen added that he will also use the money to travel and “put some away for a rainy day.”
This Isn’t His First Time Making It on the Show
The EP shared that Remsen made it on the show years before, after auditioning in Memphis, but was unable to be on the show at the time. The contestant shared that he was better prepared to be on the show now than back then and wouldn’t have won as many games if he had been able to be on it.
He is a Life-Long Fan
“I haven’t missed an episode of Jeopardy! in decades. I always watch it,” he told Whitcomb-Foss. Now, he gets to play it out in real life.
Remsen is a Published Author
The game show contestant has published a book. Published in 2021, the book Sunset Woman was changed to A Lucky Year. It is about an attorney who is about to go broke until he finds a box of photos worth a lot of money. According to his website, he is working on a second book.
