It was no secret that The View co-host Ana Navarro wasn’t a fan of The Golden Bachelor from the beginning. She spoke about it on the talk show several times, expressing how much she hated the whole idea. Now that the couple announced their divorce, Navarro was eager to rub it in her co-hosts’ faces. Gerry Turner & Theresa Nist Head For Divorce
Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner and his soon-to-be ex-wife Theresa Nist announced their split on Friday, April 12 on Good Morning America.
As the pair held hands during a joint interview, Turner shared the news. He said, “We’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, and so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.”
The hosts of GMA clarified that he meant they would be getting a divorce. Both Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist agreed that’s what it meant.
While many people were shocked to learn about the couple’s divorce, others were not. A body language expert has come out and said that the Golden Bachelor star was never fully committed to his relationship with Theresa. Al Roker literally laughed about the news on Today.
Ana Navarro Blasts Her Co-Hosts About Golden Bachelor
Ana Navarro is among those who didn’t find the news surprising either. In fact, she was excited to tell her co-hosts on The View, “I told you so.”
“I want the first bat at this, because for like six months you tortured me every Friday and made me talk about this topic, which I can’t stand because I think it’s manufactured and a complete crock,” she said on Friday’s episode of The View. “So, today I get to say: I told you so, I told you so, I told you so!” Navarro danced in her seat as she said this.
The View co-host notoriously hated talking about The Golden Bachelor. At one point, she joked that she’d rather be “thrown on the other side” of the border wall than talk about the Bachelor spinoff.
Sunny Hostin looked a bit dismayed by the news. She often cheered for the people on The Golden Bachelor because she thought it was cute that they might find love later in life. However, she was upset that she “fell for this nonsense.”
“Yes you did!” Ana Navarro hammered down on Hostin. She said that she remained hopeful that Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s age would mean that “they knew better.” This gave Sunny Hostin hope that their relationship would last.
Alyssa Farah Griffin joined Navarro in not being surprised by the split. “You don’t watch it to watch people find lasting love. You do it to see how the social experiment works,” she said. “It’s filmed over six weeks. They’re dating other people. If you make it to the honeymoon suites, he’s probably slept with another person — or she — right before proposing to you. It’s bound to fail, but it’s still fascinating!”
The Golden Bachelorette is slated to air this fall on ABC, but there is still no confirmation on who the leading lady will be.
