Fans have been bashing Bravo and Andy Cohen for bringing back Vicki Gunvalson. She is currently appearing on RHUGT and RHOC, and it is too much Vicki for viewers. Now, Andy is attempting to justify her return, but fans are not having it and are lashing out at him. Was Vicki A Big Mistake?
After Vicki Gunvalson was fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County, she never really left Bravo. Rather, she would make appearances as a friend, and it seemed to work well. Those who did not care for her were not inundated, but she still made her presence known. Small doses were good, and then the 20th season of OC came up, and she was brought back full-time. She was also invited to be on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th. Now that both have returned, it seems that bringing Vicki back was a huge mistake.
She has been deemed a “Debbie Downer” and is constantly miserable. On their trips, Vicki chooses to work rather than socialize, and she is rude to her co-stars. However, Andy Cohen is not ready to throw in the towel and admit that her return was a bad idea. So, he is defending and justifying her bad behavior on both shows:
“First of all, she shot Girls Trip first. She hadn’t been on television in, you know, a few years, so she was kinda coming into it. In terms of Vicki on Orange County, what I like about it is that we have been watching this woman for 20 years, and you are seeing her … at a different life stage. And yes, she’s at a different life stage than many of the other women, but you know, you see her reflecting on her life a lot on that show. She regrets divorcing Donn. She is dealing with some ailments.”
He went on to note that she is two decades older than some of her RHOC co-stars and even referred to Vicki Gunvalson as an “elder.” Yet, he feels that this is what makes the show unique. As time goes on, Andy shares that the insurance mogul gets her groove back and things get better, but viewers do not agree. Moreover, they hate the fact that anyone would try to defend her and how awful she has been.
Indefensible Behavior
No matter what Andy Cohen tried to say to make Vicki Gunvalson look okay, fans were not buying it. They felt he was just embarrassed by hiring her back, only for her to let everyone down:

- Face it, Andy. The decision to bring her back was a very bad one.
