TV personality Andy Cohen recently got called out for underpaying his babysitter. Now, he’s doing everything he can to prove he’s in the right. This includes reaching out to his other famous friends to find out how much they are paying. Keep reading to find out more about what’s going on.
Andy Cohen Put On Blast
As previously reported, Andy Cohen got caught by Jeff Lewis for seemingly underpaying his babysitter. Currently, Andy has two children. His oldest, Benjamin “Ben” Allen Cohen, is seven. He was born February 4, 2019. His daughter is named Lucy Eve Cohen. She is four and was born in April 2022.

On a recent episode of Andy’s SiriusXM show, he sat down with Jeff Lewis, and they got on the topic of babysitting. Andy revealed that he only pays his babysitter $30. This left Jeff shocked, as he thinks Andy has too much money to be paying someone that little.
“Oh, hmm. That sounds cheap to me, especially from someone with your money,” Jeff says during the episode.
“She was there for two hours and you gave her 60 bucks? Did that even cover the cab?” he continues.
Andy stood up for himself, explaining that she got $70 because she was there a little over two hours.
However, the conversation didn’t end there. Now, Jeff is saying that Andy actually called in for backup.
Getting Defensive Over His Pay
According to Entertainment Weekly, on the latest episode of Not Skinny But Not Fat, Jeff is sharing some more details about what really went down the day of the babysitting conversation. Apparently, Andy took it all pretty seriously. So seriously, in fact, he was actually texting his friends to see how much they pay their babysitters.
“He was defensive,” Jeff reveals. “He was like texting Kelly Ripa and s— like, ‘What do you pay your babysitter?’”
Of course her kids are grown, so she was no help. But that didn’t stop him from asking others their thoughts. Jeff explains that he asked at least three different people what a reasonable pay rate was for a babysitter.
“He was texting all his famous friends,” Jeff shares. “I want to say like he texted three people, at least three people live on the radio. Like, this is such a big deal to him.”
Despite all of his research, Jeff stands by his opinions on Andy’s pay rate.
“I have an idea of the kind of money that Andy makes, right?” he says. “I think $30 an hour is on the low end, especially for two kids.”
Do you think $30 an hour is enough for a person babysitting two children? Or should Andy be paying more? Sound off in the comments below. Come back to TV Shows Ace for more news on all of your favorite TV personalities.
