Bobby Flay flipped the script on his competitors during the latest episode of Beat Bobby Flay.
The Food Network series sees two chefs go head-to-head for the chance to beat Flay by making their signature dish in the competition’s second round. The Tuesday, August 18, episode featured two out of three Titans from Bobby’s Triple Threat — Ayesha Nurdjaja and Brooke Williamson — as guest hosts.
“Bobby, you know, you’re always surprising us on Triple Threat. So, tonight, we’re gonna turn the tables and surprise you,” Williamson said to Flay, who is also her boyfriend. Nurdjaja added, “Our first contender is someone that you’ve battled before. You’ve actually called him a mad scientist in the kitchen because you never really quite know what he’s gonna cook. And tonight, he wants to take home the win.”
The episode’s first competitor was Williamson and Nurdjaja’s fellow Bobby’s Triple Threat Titan, Michael Voltaggio. While Flay assumed the chef competing against Michael would be his brother, Bryan Voltaggio, the women surprised him with another fun twist.
“Well, Bobby, there isn’t gonna be another chef walking through that door. The chef competing against Michael is me,” Nurdjaja revealed before Williamson added, “Or me.” A shocked Flay asked, “Hold on a second. One of you is gonna go compete with him, and then I’m gonna take on one of you guys?”
Flay proceeded to walk off set before returning with a twist of his own. “You know me on Triple Threat as Bobby in the suit. You guys just raised up Bobby from the block,” he stated. “You know how we give $25,000 away to the winner on Triple Threat? Here’s the deal. I’ll put up $25,000 if you guys beat me. But if you lose, you lose your job.”
The proposition shocked the Titans. “I mean, that’s not fair. We love our job,” Nurdjaja said. Williamson stated, “I didn’t sign up for that.”
Ultimately, Flay offered the Titans an ultimatum. “How about this? You guys can choose. $25,000 and you put your job on the line, or whoever goes up against me goes up against my signature dish,” he proposed, which the Titans ultimately accepted.
Williamson was selected as Michael’s Round 1 competitor, and she beat her colleague to go up against Flay in Round 2, where he challenged her to create his signature dish: fresh pasta lasagna Bolognese.

Though both halves of the couple turned in impressive dishes, Williamson emerged victorious. “I just beat Bobby Flay on Beat Bobby Flay,” Williamson said in a post-win confessional. “Yeah, I’ll be talking about this one anytime I’m around Bobby for the next, I don’t know, 150 years.”
Despite his loss, Flay couldn’t help but be happy for his girlfriend’s win and celebrated by giving her a sweet hug and kiss.
