TV Shows

Below Deck costars and buddies Captain Lee Rosbach and Kate Chastain are launching off on a new show together.

The good news comes amid Captain Lee’s break from Below Deck. While he’s gone from Below Deck, he hasn’t been idle. And now we know at least a little bit of what he’s been up to. He and Kate will be setting sail on a new Bravo adventure together. And here’s what we know about it.

Lee Recently Weighed In On Potential Reality TV Star Strike

Before we get to news about the new show that the pals will be working on together, we have to talk about something Captain Lee recently weighed in on.

Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel is trying to create a movement and inspire a strike among reality TV stars. According to Bethenny, the ongoing writer and actor strike in Hollywood is impacting unintentional victims. Bethenny suggested that reality TV stars are being exploited as time slots once filled by scripted shows need last-minute coverage. And since reality television is unscripted and doesn’t need writers, they can just make more episodes while the other shows are on pause.

Bethenny said that reality TV stars are “the stepchildren, the losers, the mules, the pack horses” being leaned on. She added they’re  “the ones that the entertainment industry is going to rely on right now to carry the water and do the heavy lifting.” As she is busy organizing a strike, Captain Lee shared his thoughts on the matter.

He called Bravo’s treatment of reality stars “fair.” While he mused that he would like to make more money, “As far as unionizing and going on strike, I think that’s pretty harsh rhetoric.”

Below Deck‘s Captain Lee And Kate Launch Off On New Show Together

She quipped, “I did not see that one coming, but he loved it.”

And he has thoughts about Scandoval, as well. Kate says that he weighed in on Tom Sandoval, saying, “He said that Sandoval the was poor man’s Johnny Depp and I was like, ‘Look at you Captain Lee with your finger on the pulse of pop culture.’ It’s hilarious.”
