RHONY alum Bethenny Frankel is opening up about how she found peace in her miscarriage. Yes, she is the proud mother of her daughter, Bryn aka Peanut. However, she was almost a mother of two until divine intervention and it worked in Frankel’s favor. Keep reading for more details on why she looked at this as a positive rather than a negative.
Bethenny Frankel Found Peace In Miscarriage
From Season 1 through 3, Bethenny Frankel was very candid about her life and struggles on RHONY. She went from having nothing but wanting so much. Frankel was a woman with a dream and by the third season, she was achieving everything and more. Plus, she was engaged to Jason Hoppy and she found out she was pregnant. It was as if all of the pieces had fallen into place. Frankel even landed a spinoff to show her planning her dream wedding while she continued to work and get ready for baby.
Unfortunately, by the time she came back to the hit Bravo show in Season 7, her marriage had fallen apart. She was in a custody battle and it was a disaster of a divorce of epic proportions. This situation took years to resolve but Frankel tried to make her daughter, Bryn a priority. Now, Frankel, 53, is opening up about losing a child during her marriage to Hoppy. According to People, she is spilling the details on her Just B podcast. As it turned out, Frankel and Hoppy were expecting a second baby during their time together. She was six weeks pregnant when she suffered a miscarriage but it was not necessarily a bad thing given the state of her marriage.
Bethenny Frankel explained this:
“In a constructive way, I said, ‘I’m kind of relieved…because I don’t think this is a healthy or positive relationship.’ It was like the first step to saying something.”
That was how she broke it to Jason Hoppy who was not happy in the slightest.
“And he said to me, ‘You’re a real piece of s—, you know that?’ He moved out to a hotel downtown for a couple of nights, and it was total relief.”
Moving On
Eventually, the marriage was over but Jason Hoppy was arrested for stalking in 2017. Bethenny Frankel claimed she tried not to talk about her troubles all that much on RHONY. However, they always popped in as it made it hard for her to truly move on. In 2021, their divorce was finally finalized. Frankel did move on while she was waiting with Dennis Shields. Tragically, he died in 2018 and she has since found love with Paul Bernon.
They got engaged in 2021 but are in no rush to walk down the aisle. In 2023, Bethenny told E! News this:
“I don’t want to build a wedding. I love my life, I love my fiancé. He’s an amazing life partner and I don’t want to sign a contract with someone I love and I don’t want to plan a massive wedding for everybody else and not what we want.”
