At 93 years old, most people are probably sitting in a chair watching TV or just taking it easy. That is not the case for Jerry MacDonald, who is Big Brother‘s oldest Houseguest ever.
Jerry entered the 10th season at 75 years old. He was retired from the Marine Corps and from being a marketing executive. He won two Pover of Vetos and two Head of Household competitions. According to his Instagram bio, he is the oldest reality TV contestant ever.
Jerry made it to third place despite being nominated five times. He lost against Memphis Garrett and Dan Gheesling, who were the Renegades. Dan wound up taking home the $500,000 grand prize. But he also gained a lifelong friendship with Jerry. Jerry attended Dan’s wedding in 2011.
An X user asked Gheesling, who also placed second on Season 14, how Jerry, who is now 93 years old, was doing. “@DanGheesling can we please get an update on Jerry?” they asked.
Dan replied to the Big Brother fan account with a positive update on August 13. “Talked to him 2 days ago. He was painting a deck and said he was lifting 125lb bags earlier in the day,” he said.

“Jerry never falters, man what a legend,” a fan replied.
“Fricking legend,” another wrote.

“Sounds about right,” one last fan commented.
In May 2025, Dan shared a photo of Jerry on FaceTime, with an update to fans. “Got a FaceTime call today from Jerry. He’s 92, recently retired, and has a younger girlfriend. He also showed me his muscles during the call. Safe to say he is doing well, same old Jerry,” Dan wrote with a laughing emoji. Judging from his latest Instagram post in 2023, Jerry worked in Customer Service at Lowe’s.

“He’s a good dude,” Dan said in the comments.
The Season 10 winner also shared a FaceTime photo with Jerry in May, when he turned 93. “Today is Jerry’s 93rd birthday – still doing well :),” Dan wrote.
The next oldest Houseguest is Felicia Cannon, from Season 25. She was 63 years old when she was on the show. The next two are Jack Owens Jr., from Season 4, and LaTrice Verrett from this season, both 58. LaTrice turned 58 in July.
