BIP Season 9 Couples Split
Season 9 of Bachelor In Paradise was one of the most successful in the history of the franchise. Two couples left the beach engaged and another left as a couple with the plan to continue dating.
John Henry Spurlock proposed to Kat Izzo during the season finale. Eliza Isichei and Aaron Bryant also got engaged. Meanwhile Kylee Russell and Aven Jones weren’t ready for marriage, but left the beach in a relationship.
But just four days after the season finale aired, all three couples confirmed that the relationships were over.
Kylee accused Aven Jones of cheating on her. Eliza and Aaron Bryant seemed to split on good terms.
Neither John Henry or Kat shared much about what went wrong in their engagement until now.
John Henry Spurlock Details What Led To Kat Izzo Split
John Henry Spurlock was a guest on the Almost Famous podcast this week and spilled some serious tea about his breakup with Kat Izzo. Much of it seemed to have to do with his job. The commercial diver specializes in underwater welding, a career that takes him to various locations around the world.
He admitted on the podcast that his career is not “relationship friendly,” but he said Kat knew that from the get-go. According to the BIP alum, they both tried to make his career work with their relationship.
She moved to North Carolina to be closer to him. He told the podcast hosts that he tried to “figure out” how to make a career move that would be best for his relationship with Kat. However, he started to have doubts about being engaged.
“I started to see our differences a lot more. So, things just really got hard for me,” he confessed. According to Us Weekly, tensions arose even more once the show began airing and they saw how things unfolded on the beach.
The Bachelorette alum confirmed that he was the one who initiated the split. “I just started thinking to myself, maybe this just isn’t for me. Once I got that in my head, it just kind of spiraled from there.”
Where They Stand Now
According to John Henry, the split seemed to blindside Kat. Despite the tough breakup, he doesn’t have any hard feelings toward her.
In fact, he sang her praises. “Kat is amazing. She really is something special. She’s not my longest relationship, but Kat’s a catch,” he said about his ex-fiance.
Unfortunately, it sounds like his career came between the couple.
ABC has yet to confirm a Season 10 of Bachelor In Paradise and many fans think it’s been canceled or shelved for the year.
