Josie and Kelton Balka’s daughters are growing up quickly. Willow Kristy is three years old and Hazel Sloane is one year old. Thanks to social media, fans get to watch them grow and learn. This also means that Josie’s social media followers get a peek at her parenting style, which has both pros and cons.

Below, you can see a recent family photo they shared while in San Diego for Lawson Bates and Tiffany Espensen’s wedding.

Bringing Up Bates fans express concerns about Josie Balka’s parenting

In a new confession on the Duggar Bates Confessions Instagram page, a fan pointed out that Josie often refers to her daughters as her friends or “little besties.” The Bringing Up Bates fan explained that Josie needs to be her kids’ parent instead of being their friend.

The fan then said, “I can’t stand when people try to be best friends with their child and have their kids act like them and be just like them and whatnot.”

In the comments section of the post, other Bringing Up Bates fans are chiming in, and it looks like they have mixed feelings about this confession. Some fans are agreeing with the confession post and they are saying that Josie has to be able to correct her children and be responsible for them.

But other fans are arguing that it isn’t really that deep. They don’t think that Josie calling her daughters her “besties” is a sign that she isn’t a parent to them.

Another Bringing Up Bates fan noted, “Some people are capable of being both.”

Ultimately, Josie and Kelton’s parenting decisions are entirely up to them. And on social media, fans only get a small peek into their real lives, so it’s unclear what actually goes on throughout the Balkas’ days.

So, do you see a problem with Josie Balka being friends with her daughters, Willow and Hazel? Or do you think Bringing Up Bates fans are reading into it too much? Sound off in the comments section below, and come back to TV Shows Acfor more Bates family updates.
