Bruno Tonioli Weighs In On Contestants Dance Advantage
Some of the Dancing With The Stars contestants have an unfair advantage in fans’ eyes. A few of them have a dancing background. Like Harry Shum Jr. He was in Glee and a backup dancer for Beyoncé. Jenna Dewan also has some dancing background. A lot of people have been talking about how unfair it is. However, Bruno Tonioli has spoken out and revealed how he disagrees.
“It doesn’t matter, because ballroom and Latin are so specific. They’re very specific disciplines. In fact, they say if you’re a ballet dancer, ballet-trained, ‘Oh, she’s had ballet.’ It actually doesn’t help — at all — for Latin, because Latin is all ground. You’re using the foot in a completely different way.”
He admitted that he thinks it would be easier for them if they had no idea about dancing at all.
It seems as though Bruno does not find this to be a disadvantage. He thinks that all of their backgrounds in dancing don’t even compare to what they have to learn for Latin and ballroom. Harry Shum Jr. even admitted on last night’s episode that he thought his background was a disadvantage. While fans understand what Bruno is saying, they still think it gives the contestants a small leg up.
