Candace Cameron Bure is an actress with a career spanning decades. Over the years, she has dealt with her fair share of critics. Recently, the star opened up about one criticism she’s gotten that really took its emotional toll on her.

Candace Cameron Bure Is Known For A Number Of Projects, Including Her Own Podcast Series

Candace first became known to many at a young age through her work on Full House, playing D.J. Tanner, a role she later reprised on Fuller House. She later became known for her work with Hallmark and Great American Family.

In 2022, Bure would even become Great American Media’s chief content officer. Outside of this, she also hosts her own namesake podcast, The Candace Cameron Bure Podcast, which is produced by Candy Rock Entertainment.

Being in the public eye, even at a young age, Bure has dealt with critics throughout her career. Recently, however, she shared a tearful admission about one type of comment that really gets to her on her podcast.

As Bure shared, “I’m getting the tissues out. People always comment how annoying my voice is. … All the time.”

The star needed a few takes to pull herself together and wipe her eyes before sharing more of the story. She noted that one person even claimed that they “turned off” a TV because they felt that her “voice is so annoying.” Bure continued, “It’s a lot. It’s the one criticism I constantly hear, is my voice.”

Bure Shared That There Was One Special Time When Her Voice Sparked Positive Comments

Despite this, Bure also shared something that helped her find consolation. This was her faith, especially in the form of reading the Bible. She shared, “I just want to share that, so I often — on the Story part of my Instagram — read The Bible. Just a few verses, maybe a paragraph.”

In fact, by Bure’s admission, she has actually received a few positive comments over her reading the Scriptures out loud. ‘I love to hear you read The Bible. You make The Bible come alive for me.’”

Bure continued, “So, it feels so redemptive that God’s using the very thing that glorifies him and the thing that’s brought me pain. And then, be rewarded for it. Not, in a personal way be rewarded but, people like the sound of my voice when I read The Bible.”

The irony also wasn’t lost on Bure that she was talking about her voice, and being self-conscious about it, while hosting a podcast. She noted, “I’m crying because I just got really self-conscious of my voice, because that’s what you’re listening to. But I have a podcast, and we’re sharing Jesus.”
