Trespasses is based on the Louise Kennedy novel of the same name and is set in the dangerous world of Belfast 1975, during the height of The Troubles time period.
Against her better judgment, Catholic schoolteacher Cushla Lavery (Petticrew) becomes involved in an illicit affair with an older Protestant married man, Michael Agnew (Cullen), a barrister who often defends IRA suspects and is friends with cultured Bohemians who enrage and intrigue her. As their forbidden love deepens, Cushla is pulled between duty and desire, family and freedom.
Who is in the PBS Trespasses cast?
Anderson stars and executive produces the series, playing Gina Lavery, Cushla’s alcoholic mother. In addition to Petticrew’s Cushla and Cullen’s Michael, the series also stars Martin McCann as Eamonn Lavery, Emily Taaffe as Betty McGeown, Oisín Thompson as Gerry Harkin, Barry Ward as Victor McIntyre, and others.
