Season 5 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test is coming! On July 15, Fox shared the premiere date and cast for the fifth season of the celebrity social experiment, which puts celebrities to the test on a course that replicates the actual United States Special Forces training.
The celebrity cast members are put through a rigorous course that tests them both physically and mentally. For Season 5, they’ll be heading to Malaysia to navigate the jungle.
Per a press release, “Recruits must adapt to uncomfortable conditions, unpredictable terrain and harsh jungle warfare tasks, including a claustrophobic, high-pressure search of an underground bunker to find crucial military weapons; a supply load retrieval while suspended 300 feet above the jungle floor; endure a barrage of chemical gassing while retrieving coordinates of an enemy vessel; and much more.”

When does Special Forces Season 5 premiere?
Season 5 of Special Forces premieres on Thursday, September 24, at 9/8c on Fox. The network previously confirmed that the series was part of its fall 2026 programming slate in the one-hour Thursday time slow.
In 2023, there were two seasons of Special Forces, premiering in January and September. No new episodes of the show came out in 2024, but 2025 featured two seasons in January and September again. Only one season will air in 2026.
Who are the Directing Staff for Special Forces Season 5?
While the celebrity “recruits” change every season, the Directing Staff (DS) has been the same for the majority of the show. Rudy Reyes, Jason Fox, and Mark “Billy” Billingham have all been DS since Season 1, while Jovon “Q” Quarles joined in Season 2.
These four will be returning as the DS for Season 5.
