  • The TV personality is reportedly one of several guest hosts the network is trying out amid a rehaul of the morning show.
  • Fans expressed mixed reactions to Hasselbeck’s performance on the show via social media.

As Elisabeth Hasselbeck nears the end of her CBS Mornings guest-hosting gig, fans are weighing in on her performance on the show.

The former co-host of The View kicked off her three-day stint on the CBS morning show on Monday, June 15, and will wrap up her guest role on Wednesday, June 17. “Catch her with @GayleKing and @nateburleson Monday–Wednesday, talking parenting, pop culture, and more during the 8AM hour,” the show’s official X page previously announced on Thursday, June 11.

At the time, fans shared their mixed reactions to the news via X, with one person writing, “Miss her on The View! I only tuned in when she was back as a guest host this year.” Another stated, “Pass. I’m glad I will be out of town and won’t be watching tv.”

So far on the show, Hasselbeck has joined Gayle King and Nate Burleson for interviews with stars such as Billy Porter, Sam Worthington, and Oprah Winfrey, and has reported on topics including infidelity among political candidates and warnings about a popular brand of baby bassinets. Her colleagues, meanwhile, handled more serious news stories about the war in Iran and intense weather across the country, among other topics.

Ahead of her third day on CBS Mornings, fans have taken to social media to share their opinion on Hasselbeck’s role on the show. “Why, oh why is Elisabeth Hasselbeck on @CBSMornings? Please answer as if I am low IQ, like trump,” one X user wrote on Monday. Another shared on Tuesday, June 16, “@CBSMornings please stop with Elizabeth Hasselback! Terrible!”

Over on Instagram, one person commented underneath a clip of Porter’s show interview on Monday, “Really Hasslebeck now?” Referring to a comment Hasselbeck made during the interview, another wrote, “And she HAS to go out of her way to say she’s ‘not a drag person.’ Gross.” (During the conversation, Hasselbeck replied to Porter’s comment that he’s not a “sports person” by stating that she’s “not really a drag person,” but noted she is a “person person.”)

Someone else commented, “I PRAY that Elizabeth Hasselback isn’t a permanent newscaster, if she is I am out and that breaks my heart because I love everyone else @gayleking @nateburleson @vladduthierscbs.” A different person posted, “I love Billy Porter!! But please DO NOT HIRE HASSELBACK!! She is not our morning vibe!! Vlad [Duthiers] or Jericka [Duncan] or one of our other gals! Send her back to FOX or the survivor island!”

Hasselbeck, for her part, celebrated her guest role on CBS Mornings on her Instagram Story. “Grateful for a fun morning with this team!” she captioned a pic of herself, King, and Burleson dressed in New York Knicks blue and orange on Monday.

On Tuesday, she shared a snap from her and King’s interview with Winfrey and author Sophie Chen Keller about the new book Little Wonder. “This book was wonderful. And a morning spent with the besties was too,” she captioned the Instagram Story pic.

When Hasselbeck’s CBS Mornings role was announced, it was reported that she would be one of several guest hosts that CBS News is testing amid an overhaul of the show. Hasselbeck famously served as a co-host on The View from 2003 to 2013 and on Fox & Friends from 2013 to 2015.
