Chris Daughtry and his family now have closure when it comes to his daughter’s untimely death. The musician’s stepdaughter, Hannah Price had passed away on November 12th. Speculation began as to how the twenty-five-year-old died. Daughtry was in the middle of a tour which he promptly postponed to be at home with his wife and loved ones. Now, two months later, Hannah’s cause of death had been confirmed and the family is speaking out.
Chris Daughtry’s Devastating Loss
When it was announced Chris’s stepdaughter, Hannah had passed away, the world was shocked. He immediately postponed his tour to rush and be with his family. Chris married Hannah’s mother, Deanna, in 200o when Hannah was just four years old. She also had a sibling which Chris took in as his own and soon, he and Deanna expanded the family with twins.
Unfortunately, Hannah struggled with mental illness throughout her life, according to People. A handful of years ago, Deanna’s ex and Price’s father committed suicide. Hanna endured a lot after this so the family was in the process of getting her continued help. This included moving her closer to home.
Sadly, she was found hanging in her apartment by her boyfriend at the time. Tables turned and her death was soon being investigated as a homicide. No more news had been reported about Hannah until now when Chris and his family received the final report. They now can confirm what took their beloved daughter away and the Daughtry family is still struggling daily.
Cause of Death
Chris Daughtry and his family released a statement as to what caused Hannah’s untimely passing. It was not a homicide but rather suicide. “Our beloved Daughter Hannah Price passed away on November 12th, 2021. Much speculation has been made since that date, and after a full investigation by law enforcement we are now able to speak in further detail.” The statement talked about her struggles with mental health from an early age and how she tried to seek help.
“As Hannah got older, she struggled to find her footing and began using drugs and often found herself in abusive relationships. Just months after losing her biological father to suicide, Hannah was the victim of a crime and was shot in the face. We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track. We had just recently made plans with Hannah for her to seek further treatment and move closer to the family.”
As the statement came to a close, the family asked for “continued privacy at this time while we grieve.” Finally, they shared free and confidential resources for anyone struggling with mental health issues.
