Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro

Dancers are such animals! Or so it seems when the remaining dancers vying for a spot as a pro on Dancing With the Stars get a reprieve from their training exercises, courtesy of host and noted conservationist Robert Irwin. He takes them on a field trip to one of his favorite habitats, Australia Zoo, where they find inspiration in the rhinos, giraffes, koalas, and other creatures within the zoo’s botanic garden sanctuary. All of which could come in handy when guest judge and DWTS pro Daniella Karagach challenges them to adopt one of her signature “Wow” moments and use it in a new routine.

Furious

Now entering the back half of the season, this gripping thriller gets even more twisted, leaving you wondering who’s the most damaged: serial killer Catherine (Lola Petticrew), seeking payback on those who once trafficked her for their sexual gratification, or her FBI pursuer Alice (Emmy Rossum), an abuse survivor whose campaign against her detective ex Marshall (Jake Lacy) could further hinder her career. While Alice makes an oddly friendly overture to Marshall, Catherine plays a terrifying cat-and-mouse game with her new captive, the Easton family lawyer Hal (Campbell Scott).

Somebody Knows Something

When she was 15, Kara Chamberlain was abducted and assaulted for 18 hours until she escaped and helped identify her kidnapper. This experience led to a background in law enforcement as a graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and her more recent reputation as a true-crime influencer and victims’ advocate. Chamberlain uses her expertise and influence in a new series that investigates and sheds light on unsolved murders and missing persons mysteries, working with families, law enforcement officials, and her online network. Each week, she appeals to the public in hopes of getting a tip that could bring closure. The opener revisits the case of Sabrina Aisenberg, who vanished from her crib at 5 months old in 1997 and remains missing.

Michael

The highest-grossing biopic ever comes to TV, starring Michael Jackson’s own nephew, Jaafar Jackson (son of Jermaine Jackson), as the young-adult superstar — Juliano Valdi plays Michael as a Jackson 5 child — in a film that sidesteps his later scandals and untimely death at 50 to focus on his triumph as an emerging solo artist. Colman Domingo plays the siblings’ controlling father, Joseph Jackson, from whose influence Michael seeks to escape.

Summer Under the Stars

The debonair man with the tan, actor and TV personality George Hamilton, gets his first 24-hour tribute on the movie channel. For those who only know Hamilton from his commercials and self-deprecating appearances on reality TV, it may come as a revelation that during his 1960s Hollywood heyday, he enjoyed a robust movie career as a sought-after leading man. The lineup begins with his film debut in 1959’s Crime and Punishment U.S.A. (6 am/5c), and includes Vincente Minnelli‘s 1960 neo-Western Home from the Hill (8 am/7c), impersonating country great Hank Williams in the 1964 biopic Your Cheatin’ Heart (8 pm/7c), and sparking the beach-party trend with 1960’s Where the Boys Are (10 pm/9c).
