Deli Boys is back after more than a year, and Mir (Asif Ali), Raj (Saagar Shaikh), and Lucky (Poorna Jagannathan) have upped their game as they continue to expand their DarCo ventures. Warning: Spoilers for the Deli Boys Season 2 finale ahead!
But will a cliffhanger conclusion threaten to topple the progress they made in Season 2? As viewers follow in Season 2, Mir is eager to build up the family business, and so he, Lucky, and Raj team up with local Casino owner Max Sugar (Fred Armisen) to launder their cash because their stash is overflowing.
Along the way, Lucky gets tangled up in a twisted romance with the businessman, who ultimately tricked them into working with him and was also ready to sell DarCo out when mayoral hopeful Andrew Chadwater (Andrew Rannells) was pointed in his direction for uncovering corruption. Ultimately, the DarCo crew had some insight into Chadwater’s actions as right-hand man, Matthew (Jake Prizant), went undercover as a mole, but it only went so far until he was fired.

Still, Mir, Raj, and Lucky managed to kill two birds with one bullet, as she phrases it, by setting up Chadwater with a hidden camera, where he was caught admitting to falsifying evidence in a major case of his, and also using that blackmail to influence the political candidate to help put Max behind bars, giving DarCo the keys to his kingdom, a.k.a. the casino.
Their success is short-lived, though, as they enjoy the spoils of the newly coined Lucky’s Palace Casino until a pie is delivered by Matthew. Brushing off the gift, Raj allows Matthew to keep the treat, but as the DarCo team reads the letter attached to the box, it becomes clear it’s a trick, as the dessert is poisoned.
Matthew had already taken a bite as the Dar brothers came to understand that the “eldest Dar” is on their way to get their piece of the pie… But who is the eldest Dar? Could it be an elder sibling for Mir and Raj? “You tell us,” Jagannthan says.
“We know what you know,” Shaikh adds, noting the actors are just as clued into the eldest Dar’s identity as the audience. “It could be an older brother. It could be an older sister. They could be in America. They could be in Pakistan. We just don’t know.” In other words, it’s a mystery for a potential third season to uncover.
But the twist ending wasn’t always the “eldest Dar,” as Jagannathan reveals, “In a previous draft, the cliffhanger was… all three of them come into the apartment, and there’s the sound of cooking, and they’re like, ‘who’s cooking my favorite thing?’ And it’s the mother.” As fans know, they have yet to meet Mir and Raj’s mother, who hasn’t been seen in the series. Season 1 memorably kicked off with their Baba (Iqbal Theba) being killed by a carefully aimed golf ball.
In the full video above, Ali, Jagannathan, and Shaikh open up about Season 2’s biggest twists, from Ahmad’s (Brian George) potential fate, that carefully crafted blackmail operation, Mir’s country club venture, and Raj’s run as the “F**k Me Felon.” Catch it all above, and stay tuned for any updates about the comedy’s future as we await word on a potential Season 3.
