Dancing With the Stars has a lot of drama surrounding scores and favoritism. Moreover, viewers think the judges can be particularly harsh on some of the celebs who work really hard but don’t get the accolades. The main DWTS judge catching heat is Carrie Ann Inaba. Now she is clarifying that scores do not reflect feelings or favorites. Keep reading for more on what she shared.
Carrie Ann Inaba Catches A Lot Of Heat Every Season
Out of the three DWTS judges, Carrie Ann Inaba is considered the harshest. She always says what viewers do not want to hear but adds that she is just doing her job. Whenever those who do not excel get through each week and surpass the more natural dancers, there are a lot of questions. Additionally, there is much scrutiny; people wonder if the show is rigged and question whether the judges have favorites. Could that be the reason some are voted off earlier than they should be?

Carrie Ann Inaba recently saw a fan on Threads writing about backlash they received. They mentioned how Guillermo Rodriguez made it too far and possibly didn’t deserve it:
“Just got called an ‘online bully’ on my video where I simply mentioned that Guillermo [Rodriguez] has made it further than some contestants who should still be in the competition… I fear the plot has been lost!!!”
Carrie Ann could relate to the bullying. She has been there and is still going through it, so she welcomed the fan into “the dwts social media fandom.” Moreover, Carrie Ann added that they are extremely “passionate” while noting:
“Just like a lower score doesn’t mean someone else is a ‘favorite.’”
Essentially, Carrie Ann wants to make it clear that she scores based on technique and not her feelings about the person. They are not insulting the person directly. Rather, they are trying to tell them how they can improve, but that does not always fly.

Done With Carrie Ann
For some time, DWTS fans have been done with Carrie Ann Inaba. They find her harsh and judgmental, which has not faded over time. Unfortunately, it seems to have gotten worse, which is sad because she will maintain that she is doing her job:
- For me it’s her selectivness on calling out lifts or ‘lifts’ and also looks like at times she picks a specific person (normally a woman) and is extra hard on them for no reason.
- Carrie Ann is extremely hard on women for no reason. She targets all women but I’ll explain why her comments towards black women specifically bother me AS a black woman.
-
CAI is extremely critical of the female celebs, and Derek is extremely critical of the male celebs. It’s honestly sad, I wish they’d put their insecurities aside
Hopefully, viewers will ignore the judges and just appreciate the dancing. Do you have problems with Carrie Ann Inaba, or do you like her? Let us know and watch DWTS Tuesdays on ABC.
