Dancing With the Stars viewers are convinced that the show is unfair and rigged somehow. Despite their suspicions, the judges, hosts, and dancers have shut this idea down. Now, DWTS Disney Night is coming up, and there will be team dances, but fans sense rigging. They believe this based on the unfair balance of the teams. Keep reading for more on what has been said.
DWTS Should Be A Fair Competition
For quite some time, viewers have felt that the DWTS judges favored certain dancers and celebrities. That helped to propel them further in the show, which was completely unethical. This has long been disputed, and then Season 35 began, and top celebs were sent home. That was when fans became even more suspicious. They questioned what was happening and why people like Taylor Hanson and Ciara Miller were exiting, but Guillermo Rodriguez stuck around. It was rumored that those with ABC ties got preferential treatment, and that could still be true.

Now, Disney Night is here, and there will be team dances with Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough manning each side. Fans already see the first problem, and that is that Julianne is a professional dancer, whereas Alfonso is simply a Mirrorball Trophy winner. Additionally, the teams are as follows:
- Team Julianne: Ezra Frech, Jenna Dewan, Harry Shum Jr., and Connor Wood
- Team Alfonso: Julia Stiles, Maura Higgins, Amber Glenn, and Tatyana Ali
How is that a problem? Julianne has a team that has been on top of the leaderboard for weeks. Unfortunately, Alfonso’s team has three people who have been at the bottom, so they have to put in even more work.
DWTS fans feel that this will be a fun week, but see that it is incredibly unfair and unbalanced. So, they are wondering if this is a “rigged” situation.
Can This Go On?
DWTS viewers are already having problems with the judging panel, especially Carrie Ann Inaba. Now, they are questioning if their vote even matters anymore. After seeing the teams and deeming it unfair, their fears and questions make sense:
- Of course they put the top of the board together, and the ladies separate beside Jenna because she has privilege. We already know who is gonna get the biggest scores
- I do not love that Ezra and the two overscored Chmerkovskiy frontrunners are on the other team along with the underwhelming guy who just got pushed into ‘breakthrough’ category. Those ladies are about to get unfairly scored so bad
- Why didn’t they at least split up some of the remaining guys? Strange
- This is unfair
