Guillermo Rodriguez famously went from a security guard to Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick on his Live! show. More recently, he’s stepped onto the stage of another show: Dancing with the Stars. However, he recently admitted his time on the competition series might have ended before it even started.
Guillermo Rodriguez Joined Dancing With The Stars For Season 35 Alongside Witney Carson
Rodriguez, also known by the mononym “Guillermo,” first rose to fame while working as a parking-lot security guard for Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003. Eventually, he was asked to appear on the show. Initially appearing as various characters, he eventually became Kimmel’s sidekick of sorts on the show.
Recently, Guillermo was announced as one of the “stars” on Season 35 of Dancing with the Stars. He has been paired with pro dancer Witney Carson.

Guillermo has already made it through the first week of the season. However, he recently admitted it wasn’t the easiest experience.
During an episode of the “Dancing With the Stars Official Podcast,” while speaking with Andy Richter, who competed during Season 34 of the show, Guillermo admitted, “At the beginning, I wanted to go home.” For his part, Richter shared he had heard about him making this request for a Good Morning America appearance.
Richter recalled,”You must have said five times, ‘I want to go home. Send me home. Don’t vote for me.’” He admitted that he has changed his attitude going into the second week. He shared, “Now, it’s like, I gotta learn. I gotta learn how to dance. I gotta practice. I want to do good in the second week. It sucks to be in the bottom.”
Witney Carson Also Weighed In On How Far Guillermo’s Already Come On The Show
Guillermo admitted to conflicted feelings in the moment when the names were read during the September 15 episode. “I feel good. I feel great, but when they announced who was going home, I was like, ‘Yeah!’ And then I go, ‘Wow, wait, I have five days to prepare for a second one.’ I was like, ‘Oh, my God.’ I’m already stressed.”
For her part, Carson expressed that her partner has certainly shown improvement. She shared, “I feel like he’s a lot of talk, too. I feel like he’s kinda like, ‘I know, I’m tired, I want to go home.’ But he actually does want to do well. Now he’s like, ‘I want to rehearse as much as I possibly can.’”

Carson continued, “The fact that he’s putting in the work and putting in the time means a lot to me. That means he really wants to try hard and do well.”
