Dancing With The Stars has a brand new champion
With a three-hour finale, DWTS definitely had a lot of time to fill. The show kicked off the night by showcasing the final five’s best numbers over the course of the season. From Xochitl and Val’s Coco-themed performance on Disney Night to Ariana and Pasha’s Britney Spears-inspired routine on Music Video Night, it was fun to relive all the best routines.
Although the judges and audience members alike loved the final five’s routines, only one couple could go home with the Mirrorball Trophy.
Early polls showed Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy coming in first place with Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber coming in fifth. Did those polls hold up?
It was clear that each pro dancer believed that their celebrity contestant deserved to win. While receiving scores in the skybox, many dancers and celebrity contestants alike started to tear up. Everyone said how transformational the experience had been.
But after all the redemption routines, freestyles, and special performances, one couple stood apart from the competition.
Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy are the new Dancing With The Stars champions!
DWTS Season 31 champions Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas gave a special performance during the episode. But many also enjoyed seeing them pass the title to the new champions too.
