King is known for a number of ventures, notably co-hosting CBS Mornings, originally joining the program as CBS This Morning. She also serves as an editor-at-large for Oprah Daily.
In her personal life, King has a daughter, Kirby, and a son, William Bumpus Jr. She shares both of her children with her ex-husband, William Bumpus, with whom she was married from 1982 to 1993.
Recently, fans have been reacting to a resurfaced photo of King. The CBS journalist was a proud mother at her son’s 2024 wedding to Elise Smith.
King could be seen in an elegant powder-blue dress created by designer Amsale, who also created the bride’s wedding dress. The seemingly simple gown was decorated with a bow at the shoulder.
Oprah Also Showed Off A Chic Pink Dress At The Event
King had shared images of herself in the dress alongside her son and friend, Oprah Winfrey. In the pic, Winfrey could be seen in a high-neck, light pink dress. King’s son, William, wore a white jacket, a lavender shirt, and a black bowtie. As seen in later photos and videos, the bride donned a white wedding dress with puffed sleeves.
At the time, King also shared in the post, “Favorite son Will found the girl of his dreams and now lovely [Elise Marie Smith] is an official member of the family. It was truly a spectacular family wedding! Elise’s dad was the officiant, fav daughter [Kirby] was the best woman, Elise’s sister Elizabeth was the maid of honor, Luca was the ring bearer, Elise’s mom Eva gave her away, and Will asked me to walk him down the aisle. Thanks to @oprah—the wedding was magical in her ‘backyard!’”
