HBO has just canned two major DC Studios series, and fans can do nothing but roll their eyes. They have heard a lot from DC, and at this point, they take everything with a grain of salt. So, which two were axed, and what was the reason behind it? Keep reading for more details.
DC Keeps Making Promises
It seems that DC Studios keeps making promises, and fans are catching on to this. They have seen shows that are supposed to go into production but fail to do so. HBO was set to work on two DC spin-offs, and they even had major stars attached, which helped the series even more. Unfortunately, before they even had a chance to get off the ground, they were canned. Yet, fans do not seem so surprised, although the actors who were set to star were pretty incredible.

Waller, from Suicide Squad, and Paradise Lost, from Wonder Woman, were set to begin production, but that is no longer the case. Viola Davis was going to play the role of Amanda Waller, which she has done twice before. Waller was announced four years ago, but it is now done. As for Paradise Lost, it would have been before WW’s birth. Again, that has been taken off the table, and there are no answers as to why this has happened. James Gunn and Peter Safran were to helm the shows, but this seems to be a pattern.
Sadly, fans and followers were not shocked by any of this. They have seen this happen far too many times with DC and just had to roll their eyes at the cancellations. Of course, they did wish that HBO had given them some sort of explanation as to why these shows are no longer happening. That is likely not going to happen, and it will just be swept under the rug.
A Predictable Outcome
It seems that DC fans did not expect anything less from HBO and these two shows. They knew that they would be canceled before the announcement was made, which is sad to say the least. Moreover, they stated that announcements need to wait until they are concrete, as that seems to be the biggest issue:
