Erin Napier took a playful jab at her husband, Ben Napier, while sharing one of his most hilarious habits.
In a Sunday, August 9, Instagram post, the HGTV star revealed that Ben tends to do the same thing while spending time at her parents’ house. “On Sundays after lunch at my parents’, for 20+ years, he has been falling asleep in that red velvet chair and holding onto that lamp,” she captioned a photo of Ben fast asleep. “This tickles me.”
Just as Erin described in the caption, the post featured a snap of Ben holding on to a table lamp as he took a snooze on the comfy red chair. The snap also featured a glimpse at one of the couple’s two daughters, Helen and Mae, seemingly talking to someone out of frame.
Fans reacted to Ben’s funny and relatable moment in the post’s comments. “My husband is a Pastor and often has an ‘appointment’ on Sunday afternoons,” one user joked. Another added, “I love this! In our house, we have ‘Sunday Sammies’ (regular deli sandwiches made by me, but my hubbs just love them. Then he’s gone for 3 hours for his weekly marathon nap & I get the remote or to read or.. nap. Sabbaths are such a needed blessing!!”

Ben’s Sunday nap moment comes as he and Erin are in production for Season 11 of HGTV’s Home Town. “When is more Home Town coming? Soon! We just came back to filming from our summer break,” Erin captioned an August 1 Instagram video, in which she took fans through a typical filming day.
“We have an incredible sitter who is with the girls when we are at work (she was my favorite babysitter when she was a teenager) and my parents fill in too,” she wrote. “I love to hear about people’s routines. Do you?”
In the clip, Erin started her filming day by taking a shower and doing her hair and makeup, while Ben did an early morning workout. By 7 a.m., the couple’s kids were up and helping them with chores such as laundry and washing dishes. Production, which began at 9:30 a.m., included filming at Ben’s woodshop, enjoying lunch with the show’s crew, and doing demolition at one of their project sites.
Erin and Ben were home from filming at 5:15 p.m. “The girls are at my mama’s house just down the road,” Erin wrote in the video. “Take showers because we are gross. 5:45 pm pizza night at mama’s house! Must make pallets on the floor for movie night. … 9:35 pm quick shower/face wash because it helps me sleep, read for 15 mins and fall asleep. The end.”
