How to Compete in Netflix’s Newest Competition Series

- Advertisment -

After bringing all manner of childhood games into competition in Squid Game and Squid Game: The Challenge, as well as announcing a new take on Simon Says, Netflix is turning its sights to the Parker Bros. for the next playable adaptation — this time, of Monopoly.

The streamer has announced a new reality competition series that will bring the elements of the iconic property game into a life-size town square.

Here’s what to know about Netflix’s upcoming Monopoly series, including how to play.

When does Monopoly premiere?

Netflix revealed that it will arrive on the streamer in the fall of 2027.

How will Monopoly be played?

The official description for the series tells us, “Netflix is bringing the world of Monopoly to life in a new competition series in which 12 players will compete for a $2 million prize. Contestants will be immersed in a life-size Monopoly Town Square where they’ll have the opportunity to earn money, buy properties, negotiate deals, and hopefully stay out of jail. (No word if winning second prize in a beauty contest will still earn $10.) One by one, bankrupt players will be eliminated while others build their empire — until the one person left standing takes it all.”

What is the prize on Monopoly?

The grand prize winner will receive a $2 million prize, per Tudum.

How can I compete on Monopoly?

A total of 12 players will compete in the series, and Netflix has opened an audition call for the show at MonopolyCasting.com. According to the site, players must be 21 years old at the time of application, available for three weeks of production, reside in the United States, have a passport to travel to international locations including the U.K. and the U.S., and not work for or have a relative who works for the All3 Media Group or Netflix.
