The July 14 episode of America’s Got Talent featured the next round of audition performances of Season 21. Sofia Vergara had the only Golden Buzzer left, and she used it on an act deserving of making the Live Shows.
Throughout the night, various acts showed off their talents for Vergara, Simon Cowell, Mel B., and Howie Mandel, and the judges decided which ones would move forward in the competition.
Below, see a roundup of all the performances and find out what the judges had to say about them. Plus, find out who received Vergara’s Golden Buzzer for an automatic advancement to the Live Shows!
Yukuta
First up in Episode 6 was Yukuta, who came to AGT from Japan to audition for Cowell. It didn’t take long for Mel B. to hit her Red Buzzer after Yukuta did a headstand with a poster of Cowell duct-taped to his back.

The routine got a chuckle out of Mandel, but Mel B. was bewildered. “It’s called comedy,” Mandel insisted. “I’m giving you your first yes.” Vergara and Cowell were also impressed enough by Yukuta’s comedy and also said yes, so he’s moving forward.
Cameron Logsdon
Cameron Logsdon also came to the show with a comedy routine. He showed off his celebrity impressions by giving judges sample résumés of stars who could be potential judges on the show, then doing his impression of those people.

From Jason Statham, to Will Smith, to Jennifer Coolidge, Cameron brought a whole plethora of celebrities to the stage with his impressions.
“I think you’re brilliant,” Vergara confirmed. “I think you did a great job with each of them. I am glad that you’re here.” Mel added, “I wish you would’ve just made a story, like a party, with the different voices, and not gotten Simon involved. But I thought it was brilliant.”
Mandel said he “loved” the impressions, and Cowell said what Cameron did was “really original and a great idea,” as opposed to what Mel suggested. Everyone but Mel said yes to Cameron moving on.
Carolina Mic
For his performance, Carolina Mic rapped about what he would do if he had $1,000,000. He used a foot pedal to autotune his voice throughout the song.

Vergara, Cowell, and Mandel all pressed their red buzzers, signaling that they wanted Carolina Mic to stop, but Mel B. held out so he could finish the performance. Unfortunately, with three nos, Carolina Mic did not move forward.
Viola Panik and Mister Punch
Viola Panik and Mister Punch performed an eclectic dance with parrot puppets. Midway through the routine, they stripped down to more revealing outfits, and the parrots kept ripping their clothes off throughout the set.

While Mel and Cowell pushed their red buzzers, Vergara admitted that she “loved it.” Cowell said, “I thought it was like watching some strange kids show from the 1970s or something.” Mandel, Mel, and Cowell said no to the burlesque performers, which meant they will not move on.
Naimana and Danielle
Naimana and Danielle, a couple from Italy, introduced themselves, then left the stage and returned with a horse and puppet prop. They performed an opera ventriloquist routine that was quite bizarre.
Trae Patton/NBC
However, there was no denying that their voices were impressive, and the routine definitely got everyone’s attention. “That was really surprising,” Vergara said, while Mandel admitted, “I think the fact that the two of you become a man, a woman, a baby, a horse, and a parrot, is something we’ve never seen before. I don’t know what it is, but I love it.”
Mel B. was “confused” by the ventriloquism, but said she loved the couple’s voices. “I just didn’t get it, [though],” she said. Cowell called the couple “talented” and noted that one of the show’s biggest winners ever was a singing ventriloquist.
Cowell and Mandel said yes, while Mel said no. Vergara was “skeptical,” but ended up giving the pair their third yes.
Nicole Tissington
Nicole Tissington’s talent is that she eats “crazy things.” Her first proof? Consuming raw chicken right in front of the judges. Cowell was so disgusted that he immediately hit his red buzzer.

Nicole then took out a heeled shoe and began cutting into it, shocking the judges and audience. However, the shoe was revealed to be … a cake! It turns out her talent is actually baking intricate cakes to look like other objects. She made cake versions of the judges’ microphones, buzzers, and cups.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to move Nicole forward, but it was certainly a surprise!
Butter & Grit
Butter and Grit hit the stage to perform an original song. The crowd went absolutely wild for the performance and Mel B. gave a standing ovation.
Trae Patton/NBC
“You brought the fun, I loved it,” Mel gushed. Mandel said, “You’re really really good. I think there’s a real audience for this. It’s real Americana.”
Cowell was booed when he said the song sounded like a Cracker Barrel commercial, but he admitted that he would “want to go to the restaurant” if he heard the track. Vergara agreed that it sounded like a commercial, but said Butter and Grit were so fun, it didn’t matter. In the end, all four judges said yes.
Veronika Goroshkova
Coming to the show from Ukraine, Veronika Goroshkova performed an aerial act she’d been doing all her life.
Chris Haston/NBC
“That felt like a gold medal performance in every way. Everything about your showmanship, it was so difficult. You see how hard and dangerous this is. I think that was perfection,” Cowell confirmed.
Vergara raved that she was “really, really into it,” and said that although there’s been “a lot of these kinds of acts,” she “had this feeling” to press her Golden Buzzer. With that, Veronika is headed right to the Live Shows!
Elsie
Elsie sang an original song on the show after being pushed to head to AGT by her husband, who urged her to pursue her dreams after she previously allowed him to fulfill his.
Chris Haston/NBC
Vergara and Cowell commented to one another that the song was “nice,” but admitted they didn’t love the song that Elsie wrote. “You’re clearly an amazing singer, but for me personally, you should’ve done a different song. Your voice is so much bigger and better than what you showed us,” Mel shared.
Mandel said Elsie “looked like a star,” but didn’t get to learn more about who she is from the performance. Vergara added, “I didn’t love the song, but I did love you.”
“I think you have everything it takes to do well. Weirdly, today, I think you over-prepped. You have star potential, you have a glow about you,” Cowell agreed. Mandel said no, but the other judges wanted to hear more, so they said yes to give Elsie the opportunity to move forward.
Joel M.
Joel M., a magician from Northern Ireland, got the judges involved in his magic act. He even went so far as going into the judges’ dressing rooms to gather personal items for his routine.
Chris Haston/NBC
While there, he made Mel B.’s 50th birthday gift from the Spice Girls, a bracelet, disappear, then smashed up Mandel’s phone and a sentimental photo of Vergara’s with a hammer.
He then made Mandel’s phone reappear in a box that was hanging down on the stage the entire time. Vergara’s picture was dug out of her seat cushion. Finally, Mel B.’s bracelet was found inside the judges’ red buzzer, which Joel smashed open with a hammer.
“I don’t know how you do it. I believe in magic. I loved it,” Mel B. said. Vergara called the routine “very exciting,” but Mandel said the routine was too long and struggled to hold his attention.
“You can’t do that on the Live Show,” Cowell warned, also noting the length of the routine. Mel said yes, Mandel said no, but Vergara and Cowell gave yeses, so Joel’s moving through.
Lachlan Patterson
Comedian Lachlan Patterson then hit the stage to show off a comedy act. He had the judges cracking up throughout the routine.
Trae Patton/NBC
“I was smiling and laughing. I really enjoyed it,” Mel B. gushed, while Mandel joked, “Leave ’em wanting more, not yes!” All four judges said yes for Lachlan to move forward.
Jesse Joe
Jesse Joe and his band met in the oil fields in Texas. The band only formed three months earlier, but they wrote an original song for blue collar workers to perform on the show.
Trae Patton/NBC
Mandel praised the authenticity of the group and Mel B. agreed with everything he said. “You were so out of tune, [though],” she admitted. Vergara called the group “interesting,” adding, “You looked and sounded authentic.”
Cowell said he liked the song a lot, although he pointed out “some issues with the lead vocals.” Mandel said yes, Mel B. said no, Vergara said yes, and the decision came down to Cowell. “You need so much work, however, I do think the audience is going to want this,” he concluded. “I’m going to say yes.”
Alseny Sylla
Alseny Sylla used the entire room to perform his dance routine, complete with tumbling tricks and more.
Trae Patton/NBC
Cowell said it was a “brilliant audition” and called Alseny “one of the most committed acts we’ve seen this year.” He earned the opportunity to move forward.
Elektrodads
The Elektrodads are friends of more than 20 years who have been dancing together since they were teenagers. Now dads of 10 kids total, the dads were urged by their children to audition for AGT.
Trae Patton/NBC
Although the judges worried the act would be “cheesy” at first, the guys definitely had some moves. Their routine also included voice messages from their children.
“That was surprisingly really, really good and also really, really cute. You can all really dance,” Mel B. noted. Mandel agreed, but said, “There was nothing where you’d go, ‘Wow, you gotta come in here and see this!’ It’s not a million dollar dance.”
Vergara was convinced “everybody is going to love” the Elektrodads, while Cowell said the routine got better as it went on. “I actually disagree with Howie,” he shared. With three yeses, the Elektrodads are moving on.
Ashford Sanders
The final audition of the night was from Ashford Sanders. He sang Billie Eilish‘s “What Was I Made For?” for his act.
Chris Haston/NBC
Mel B. was most excited by the performance and gave Ashford a standing ovation. “You were giving me everything and more,” she raved. Mandel said Ashford’s “beautiful voice” was like a “warm blanket.”
Vergara added, “I could listen to you forever. I didn’t want it to end.” Ashford received four yeses and will be moving forward in the competition.
