Is Carson Daly Leaving ‘The Voice’ After Season 30? The Rumor, Explained

- Advertisment -

Since The Voice first premiered in 2011, one thing has remained constant: Carson Daly serving as host. The Today correspondent has hosted all 29 seasons of the show so far and will return to host Season 30 later this year.

But since it was confirmed in June that Season 31 had begun filming, the rumor mill began spinning about Daly’s future with the show. NBC finally confirmed the Season 31 renewal on August 4, along with an update about Daly’s involvement.

Scroll down for everything we know about whether Daly is leaving The Voice after Season 30 and more.

Is Carson Daly leaving The Voice?

Yes, Daly will not be returning to host Season 31 of The Voice. Along with the renewal announcement, it was revealed that there will be a new host (more on that below.)

This comes just days after The U.S. Sun reported, “Carson Daly is out. He’s not hosting Season 31,” which matched up with reports on Reddit from those who attended Season 31 tapings. Audience members claimed Daly was not the host and that someone else had taken his place.

However, Daly will still be a producer on the show and The U.S. Sun’s source claims that “the door is open if he wants to return for Season 32.”

Why is Carson Daly leaving The Voice?

Per the outlet’s source, Daly is leaving the show due to the strain of managing a cross-country work schedule. He is based in New York, which is where Today broadcasts from, but when The Voice is filming pre-taped episodes or in-season with live shows, he’s back and forth to Los Angeles for production.

“He wasn’t able to make the upcoming season’s schedule work with his Today show schedule,” the Sun reported. “So his Today workload mixed with not wanting to be away from family this next year made him say ‘no’ to hosting 31.”

Daly has been married to Siri Pinter, whom he shares four children with, since 2015.

Who is replacing Carson Daly on The Voice?

Keke Palmer is the new host of the show. She will join coaches Riley Green, Queen Latifah, and Joe Jonas in the “eventized” 31st season.
