The Night Agent has been a hit for Netflix through three seasons, and it will be back for a fourth, filming in Los Angeles.
Gabriel Basso‘s Peter Sutherland has come a long way from when we first met him, going from being the person who answered the phone for Night Action to part of the program himself. But how long will we continue to follow his journey?

Is The Night Agent ending with Season 4?
Yes. The series was renewed for a fourth season on March 6.
“It’s been a wild ride filming The Night Agent in five countries across three continents to this point and we’re so thrilled that the adventures of Peter Sutherland will continue into Season 4,” creator, executive producer, and showrunner Shawn Ryan said in a statement at the time. “Our writers, our cast and our crew stand ready to answer the call to bring our incredible fans even more twists, turns and thrills.”
Then, two months later, on May 4, as production began, Netflix announced that Season 4 will be its last.
“Ever since the initial success of The Night Agent, I’ve been obsessed with eventually delivering a proper and thrilling conclusion to the show and to Peter Sutherland’s journey,” Ryan said. “I’m so grateful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for partnering with me on The Night Agent and for giving us the space to deliver a definitive final season to our worldwide legion of fans. We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget.”
Who’s in The Night Agent cast?
The Night Agent is led by Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland. Joining him as series regulars in Season 4 are Titus Welliver, Trevante Rhodes, Li Jun Li, and Elizabeth Lail. Luciane Buchanan did not return as Rose after starring alongside Basso for the first two seasons. But it’s been revealed she will be back for the fourth season, though it’s unclear in what capacity.
The series also starred, in Season 3, Louis Herthum, Stephen Moyer, Callum Vinson, David Lyons, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Jennifer Morrison, Albert Jones, Ward Horton, and Genesis Rodriguez. Amanda Warren also returned, and Suraj Sharma recurred. It has not yet been announced if any of these actors will be back for the fourth and final season.
What is The Night Agent about?
The Netflix thriller is based on Matthew Quirk’s novel and follows Peter, who’s now a night agent himself.
Ryan told TV Insider after the Season 3 finale that Season 4 would examine whether Peter can find a balance in his life. “Is [that] possible in this kind of life?” he asked.
He also teased, “We’ve got great new characters that you’ve never seen before. We’ve got Peter in a world you haven’t seen before, and I’m excited.”
