Jenna Bush Hager is correcting a mistake she made while recounting one of her wildest teenage years stories.

In a Tuesday, July 14, post on Today With Jenna & Sheinelle‘s Instagram page, Bush Hager took part in a recent social media trend, in which people pretend to sit down for a fake Netflix documentary about a wild experience in their life. “Preparing for my Netflix documentary about that one time at El Arroyo when I was 19 … iykyk,” the post’s caption read.

The joke was in reference to Bush Hager receiving two citations for alcohol-related offenses in Texas back in 2001. During the Wednesday, July 15, episode of Jenna & Sheinelle, Bush Hager revealed that the social media post featured an error.

“I incorrectly, with the help of the social media team, stated that I had a drink at El Arroyo. Now, I have had some drinks at El Arroyo, but the drink which we will be talking about in the ‘documentary’ was actually at Chuy’s,” she explained. “So, I just want to say, ‘I am sorry, El Arroyo. You always served.’ No, you didn’t. [You did] when I was 21. I just want to give credit where credit is due, and I know that many of you in the comments felt as though we didn’t accurately display what was happening. But when we do the ‘documentary,’ things will be OK.”

Sheinelle Jones went on to ask Bush Hager to clarify the incident that led to her citations. “My sister [Barbara Bush] was in town from Yale, she’s the smarty, and we went to Chuy’s, not El Arroyo,” she stated. “And we ordered a margarita with our fake IDs. I was, like, almost 21.”

According to Bush Hager, her father, former President George W. Bush, may have inadvertently caused her legal troubles. “The waitress, I think — although this will be discussed in the ‘documentary’ — was not a fan of my father’s at the time, so she called 911,” she shared. “And then, I was escorted out.”

Bush Hager and her twin sister, Barbara, are the only children of Bush and former first lady Laura Bush, and are the grandchildren of the late former President George H.W. Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush.

Per an ABC News report from May 2001, 19-year-old Bush Hager and Barbara and 20-year-old Jesse Day-Wickham were issued citations for purchasing and drinking alcohol under the age of 21. At the time, the Austin Police Department responded to a 911 call from a Chuy’s restaurant in Austin. Bush Hager and her sister did not do any jail time, but instead completed community service.

Fans reacted to Bush Hager’s citation story via social media. “The margs at both places are [great],” one user quipped underneath a clip of the on-air discussion shared on the show’s Instagram page. Another wrote, “@jennabhager call Netflix today please, we’re ready.”

Someone else shared, “Jenna is the absolute best!! We love someone that can look at their younger selves and laugh!” A different person posted, “You can take the girl outta Texas, but you can’t take Texas outta the girl! Love you @jennabhager.” A separate commenter stated, “I remember that ‘National incident’.. lol. Made headlines.”
