‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Shows Jealousy After Big Loss

TV Shows

This last week on Jeopardy!, champion Greg Jolin was trying to win his second game in a row. It wasn’t going to be easy, as Greg wanted to extend his win streak and add to his $24,001 in earnings. One of his challengers was a man named Sam Cameron. After the game, Sam said he was “super jealous” of Greg.

Here is what happened and what Sam had to say about the game.

Jeopardy! Challenger ‘Super Jealous’

Greg Jolin won $24,001 in his first win and wanted to extend his winning streak with a second win. His opponents included Sam Cameron, a finance manager from North Dakota, and Julie Phillips, an attorney from Virginia.

The game got off to a big start for Greg, who had a lead of $4,800 by the first break, which was $2,000 more than the second place opponent. He had $7,800 heading into Double Jeopardy! and he was constantly getting the higher-ticketed clues to build his lead.

However, the lucky picks on the board wasn’t what Sam was jealous about. Instead, he was jealous because he missed a question that was based on his favorite author to Greg. The category was “Only Murders In Buildings.”

“In an Agatha Christie work from 1926, this title character is killed in his home study,” Ken Jennings read. Greg buzzed in first, got the correct answer, and added $1,000 to his score.

“Oh man, I’m super jealous that Greg got to the buzzer first on the Agatha Christie question, haha!” he wrote on Reddit. “She’s my all-time favorite author and I’ve got a collection of her books from thrift stores and garage sales.”

Greg Won His Second Jeopardy! Game & Moved On

That was just part of the journey, and Greg ended up winning the game and moving on after his second win. The Final Jeopardy! round came around and the subject was “History & The Movies.”

The clue was: “This 1935 Best Picture Oscar winner tells of a 1789 event near the isolated Pacific volcano of Tofua.” Greg was the only person to get the answer right when he answered “What is Mutiny on the Bounty?”

Greg added $3,001 to his final and won $26,001 for a two-day total of $50,002. Sam was in second place with $2,999, and Julie only had $2 at the end.

Greg needs to have a good run next week if he wants to qualify for the next Tournament of Champions. Only six people have hit the five wins needed for an automatic qualifying invite, and a sixth comes from the Celebrity Jeopardy! champion.

There are also a handful of four-game winners who could get a special invitation.
