Jeopardy! co-host Mayim Bialik is breaking her silence on being berated. This has not been an easy transition for since longtime show host, Alex Trebek passed away in 2020. It took some time but finally, the hosting gig went to both former contestant Ken Jennings and actress Bialik. Yet, Jennings has fared much better with viewers than his counterpart. Jeopardy! Mayim Bialik Breaks Silence On Being Berated
Fans have not taken kindly to Mayim Bialik as one of the hosts of the long-running game show, Jeopardy! Alongside Ken Jennings, they share hosting duties. Additionally, the two take turns with different championships and competitions. Jennings has done a decent job of holding his own in the position. Sadly, viewers are constantly berating Bialik. They have accused her of taking too long to respond to contestants and cannot stand her constant pauses. Furthermore, they have called her out for a lack of engagement during the quick interview portion which happens after the first commercial break.
Since Mayim Bialik left during Season 39 due to the writer’s strike, Ken finished out the season and fans were thrilled. So, how does this make Mayim feel? According to The Sun, she shared some insight on the situation on her podcast, Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown. She let fans ask questions and one had this: “What do you do when you feel useless, irrelevant, and worthless, or do you not ever feel that way?” To that, the mother of two had this to say: “Great question – I do feel that way and it’s kind of a hard question to answer because, obviously, from where I’m sitting, I have a platform and I get to talk to people.”
She went on to add that she does not always feel that what she is doing is what she is meant to do. Or, that she is not doing it properly. Yet, Mayim noted that she tries to incorporate positivity into her life. She also shared behaviors that have worked for her including meditating and eating well. However, Mayim did say that growing up in the industry, people say how amazing you are so she struggles with believing this.
What’s Next?
It is unclear how the writer’s strike will impact Mayim Bialik returning to Jeopardy! This may be a good way for her to ultimately cut back on hosting duties. More so, she may end up just hosting the specials like Celebrity Jeopardy! or tournaments. However, it seems like she has a positive outlook and great coping skills that will help get her through all of these hard times.
