Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about his latest medical saga, sharing good news about the cancer battle he mentioned on his Prime Video docuseries Clarkson’s Farm.
In a new interview with The Sunday Times (via BBC News), Clarkson said his “aggressive” case of prostate cancer, with which he was diagnosed in May 2025, is now in remission.
“I am without a doubt, officially, the world’s luckiest man,” he told the Times. “It was an aggressive type of cancer. It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble.”
He also revealed his diagnosis came after a routine medical check. “This is why I have to say to everybody who’s reading this, please, please, please go and get checked,” he said. “It’s not uncomfortable, it’s not undignified. And it’s a no-brainer. I did, and that’s why I’m sitting here talking to you 11 months down the line.”
Now Clarkson is getting regular blood tests. “I try to be positive,” he said. “I’ve decided to be one of the 60 percent who doesn’t have a recurrence.”
Clarkson’s cancer scare came shortly after an October 2024 heart procedure, in which he received stents to help prevent a potentially fatal heart attack.
He also told the Times that during his prostate cancer saga, he required a catheter and he made the mistake of taking blood-thinning medication for his heart, which complicated the treatment. “[It was] horrific and it was all my own fault.” he added, per Deadline: “It was quite spectacularly painful. It was beyond DEFCON 1 on the pain scale.”
The Top Gear alum reiterated his testing message in an Instagram video on Saturday. “The reason why I’m fine is because the doctors caught the prostate cancer early, and they caught it early because I got tested,” he said.
Clarkson also said that thousands of people in the U.K. die from prostate cancer every year. “Don’t be one of them,” he told followers. “Get tested.”
