Update On Duggar Brothers’ Legal Woes
The Duggar family weathered several scandals involving Josh Duggar. TLC canceled the family’s 19 Kids & Counting after In Touch Weekly broke the story that he had molested several young girls, including his sisters, as a teenager. But the Duggars weren’t off television for long. The network rebooted the show without Josh Duggar and renamed it Counting On.
Josh Duggar was arrested in 2021 on child pornography charges. He was found guilty and sentenced to nearly 13 years in prison. However, he maintains his innocence and continues to fight for a new trial. Josh Duggar was recently moved to a federal prison closer to his wife, Anna Duggar, and their seven children.
The scandal was bad for the Duggar family but things got even worse when another son was arrested on molestation charges. Joseph Duggar allegedly confessed to the police that he molested a young girl while on vacation in Florida. However, he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He’s due back in court on July 14.
Johannah Duggar Reportedly Engaged Amid Family Turmoil
Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar welcomed their daughter, Johannah, in October 2005. She was their 16th child overall and their 6th daughter. Rumors circulated earlier this year that Johannah Duggar was married and had a baby. However, those rumors were false.
The last Duggar to marry was the eldest daughter, Jana. She married Stephen Wissman in 2024. She was 34 when she got married, which is very unusual in the family. The Duggars usually marry in their early 20s or late teens. Johannah Duggar is allegedly the next to walk down the aisle.

She’s reportedly engaged to David Swanson, 22. If that name sounds familiar, Swanson is the surname of Josiah Duggar’s wife, Lauren. David Swanson is her younger brother.
According to the page, James Duggar courted David and Lauren’s sister, Lydia Swanson. However, the courtship ended before an engagement. The would-be couple allegedly had a wedding date set but Lydia Swanson ended the relationship amid the Duggar family’s scandalous sons.
