On Wheel of Fortune, as players each compete to reach the Final Round, they get a few clues to help them. Of course, there have also been quite a few times when a player won the game with very little to go on. This was proven during one viral moment from the show.
Wheel Of Fortune Had A Recent Puzzle Revolving Around A Famous Party Game
Wheel of Fortune recently wrapped up Season 43 back in June. An upcoming Season 44 is on the way, with new episodes expected to premiere this September.
For the time being, fans are enjoying a summer of reruns. However, these episodes still contain a number of memorable moments, ones that some fans might also be watching for the first time. In fact, the show has been continuing to promote these scenes on social media.

Sam Smith of Northglenn, Colorado, recently appeared during an episode originally airing on June 2, 2025. However, the clip was more recently shared on the Wheel of Fortune Instagram account, right on the Fourth of July holiday.
Fans Weighed In On Whether Or Not They Would Have Been Able To Solve It (Or If They Did While Watching The Show)
At the time, Sam played against Sunny Nguyen, from Cincinnati, Ohio, and Latanya Watkins, from Beaumont, California. Starting things off strong, he solved the second toss-up, which read, “_ _ _ T_ _ _ _ _ _ _N _ _ _ _O_ _ _Y.”
The puzzle was of the “Fun & Games” category. Despite only having four letters, Smith solved the puzzle, “Pin the Tail on the Donkey.” This earned him $2,000.

For his part, Ryan Seacrest praised Smith’s win, sharing, “Yes, sir. You got it!” The contestant himself replied with a simple “Wooo!”
Despite the solve, ultimately Smith did not win the game, only ended up with $12,000. Watkins had $15,300 and a trip to St. Lucia, moving on to the Bonus Round. However, she failed to correctly guess “Flipping a House,” costing her a BMW. Meanwhile, Nguyen went home with $2,700.
On both Instagram and Facebook, a clip of the moment was shared, asking fans if they could guess the answer while watching the show. As a caption wrote, “Four letters on the board … did you solve it?”
Taking to the comments, fans shared mixed reactions. Some felt that the puzzle was easy, while others were impressed with Smith’s skills. One suggested that Smith’s win was more impressive than it already seemed. Some comments included:
- “That is impressive.”
- “He actually got it in three letters. He pressed the buzzer as the fourth popped up.”
- “I solved it in 3 letters!”
- “That was actually pretty easy.”
- “Pin the tail on the nobody. Pin the tail on the cowboy. Pin the tail on the jockey. Pin the tail on the monkey. I give up. I guess I’ll never know.”
