Katie Thurston Stage 4 Cancer Update
Katie Thurston was a contestant on Matt James’ season of The Bachelor before her own Bachelorette season. She got engaged to Blake Moynes, but they split up after less than a year. She went on another dating show before meeting her future husband online.
Katie Thurston got engaged to comedian Jeff Arcuri in Hawaii during the summer of 2024. But their wedding didn’t go the way they thought it would. The couple tied the knot in an intimate wedding in March 2025, just weeks after the Bachelorette star found out that she had breast cancer.
Unfortunately, after initially being diagnosed as Stage 2, her cancer was found to be Stage 4 and had spread to her liver. She immediately began treatment and the liver cancer was undetectable. However, she underwent a double mastectomy in April. After that, she decided to take a break from cancer treatment for her mental health.
Katie Thurston Reveals Shocking Cosmetic Procedure
Katie Thurston has shared nearly every aspect of her cancer journey on social media. In her most recent update, she revealed that she had an elective cosmetic procedure. “After so many required medical surgeries, I decided to do one for myself. I’m all about transparency. Never had Botox. Never had filler. But today I did, in fact, have chin lipo,” the reality star wrote on social media.
In another post, she shared a photo of her bandaged chin and explained more about the surgery. “We often compare ourselves to others, and I think it’s important to be open and honest about things like this so that we are being realistic. And if people want to remain private about what they do to feel better about themselves, that’s OK. I just want to remind everyone that we do live in a world of cosmetic procedures, filters and FaceTune. And at the end of the day, do what makes YOU happy,” she wrote.
Bachelorette Alum Shares Before & After Pics
Katie Thurston posted all of this on her Instagram Story, which doesn’t show public comments. But she must have received a lot of responses. She promised that she would do a Q&A soon to address all the questions. The Bachelorette star shared a glimpse at the early results immediately after the chin liposuction.
“24 hours apart. Still swollen and healing. Stitches under my chin,” she continued. “I had a tiny drain where that dot is by my ear,” she wrote on the before-and-after pictures following the cosmetic surgery.
