During a fan Q&A on the set of Jeopardy!, which was posted to the game show‘s Instagram, an audience member asked Jennings, “What song reminds you of summertime?”
“Summer music? I mean it depends on what time of the day. In the summer evening, I think you would want to hear some Beach House or some Frank Ocean,” he said. “To me, Pavement is a very summery band.”
“Anything by Animal Collective. Anything by Merriweather Post Pavilion. I think for a barbecue want old-school hip-hop. You want a Tribe Called Quest maybe,” he said. “Anything off the first two Tribe Called Quest records.
“But to me, the real songs of the summer — this is what I play every year on the 4th of July — Stevie Wonder. Like any of his early ’70s records like ‘Isn’t She Lovely?,’ ‘Don’t You Worry About a Thing,’ ‘You Are the Sunshine of My Life.’ To me, Stevie Wonder is America. That’s my Summer jam right there,” Jennings ended.
