For many years, RHOBH star Kyle Richards has had a combative relationship with her older sister, Kathy Hilton. Things have been up and down, which played out on the hit Bravo reality series. Now, Kyle is defending Kathy amid her ties to President Donald Trump and is catching a lot of hate. Keep reading for all of the details as to why.
Kyle Richards Is Stepping Up For Kathy
RHOBH fans have seen Kyle Richards and Kathy Hilton’s relationship flounder for many years. It was hard when Kyle’s estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, started his own real estate firm. Previously, he worked for Kathy’s husband, Rick, but he wanted more than what they were offering. Then, Kyle created a show, American Woman, loosely based on her upbringing and her mother. However, her sisters did not approve of it, and that further strained the relationship. Ultimately, they found peace, but it all came crumbling down during a cast trip to Aspen, Colorado.
Allegedly, Kathy had a meltdown at a club, supposedly using a homophobic slur toward a DJ, and called her co-stars awful names, including Kyle. It seems that was water under the bridge as she was asked to be the Grand Marshal Icon of WeHo’s Pride Parade. However, Kathy stepped down, and many were thrilled with her decision, especially since she has ties to President Trump. That, along with her alleged homophobic slurs, did not make her a good choice for Grand Marshall. Of course, Kyle Richards had to release a statement defending her sister and claiming she was an absolute ally:
“My sister Kathy has always been a supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community and will continue to be. As far as ‘MAGA ties’, just because you are acquainted with or have associated with someone in the past or present, does not mean you share their political views.”
She concluded her message by stating that she “respected” Kathy’s decision to step down and not want to be a “distraction.” This is a vital day for the community, and the focus should be solely on them.
No Thanks, Kyle
It is great that Kyle Richards is there for Kathy Hilton. However, this was one battle RHOBH fans felt Kyle should have stayed out of. Not only was Kyle seemingly dating a woman, but she also knew what her sister said about a DJ. She knows that Kathy may have said a slur that was inappropriate, so to have her as the Grand Marshal would have been an ill choice. Therefore, fans and followers came for the mother of four:
- No one is spending time with or having ties to Trump if they don’t agree with his politics. Nice try though, Kyle.

- Oh please lmaooo like save it. You can’t go party with Donnie and turn around and be at a pride parade. It absolutely does not work that way. It’s hypocritical.
