Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recently had a big day that they wanted to celebrate with their fans at home and in the studio. Ripa was celebrating her birthday. However, the two ended up celebrating the special day with a few unusual shares.
Mark Consuelos Recently Wished His Wife & Co-Host Kelly Ripa A Happy 56th On Their Live! Show
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos first met while playing love interests on the soap opera, All My Children. Within a year, the two ended up marrying in real life. The two share three children together: Michael, Lola, and Joaquin.
In their professional lives, the two are also known for hosting Live! with Kelly & Mark together. Consuelos became Ripa’s permanent co-host in 2023, with her having joined Live! back in 2001.
Recently, the couple had an occasion to celebrate. It was Ripa’s 56th birthday. On the show, Consuelos made sure to make it a day his spouse wouldn’t soon forget.
As Consuelos shared at the start of the show, “It’s Friday, Oct. 2, 2026 — otherwise known as my beautiful wife’s birthday today. Happy birthday!” After the audience cheered, Consuelos began to highlight other famous figures who celebrated their birthday that day. With Ripa listing figures like Gandhi, Sting, and Lorraine Bracco, Consuelos chimed in, “Groucho Marx!”
Mark then shared, “When I think of you, I don’t necessarily think of Gandhi. But if Gandhi and Groucho Marx had a kid — a daughter — because, you know what I mean? You do have this very peaceful, very strong character, but you’re also really, really funny. I’m not sure Gandhi was funny, but I know Groucho Marx was very funny.”
The Episode Ended With Mark Cutting Up A ‘Whale’ Of A Cake
The conversation continued, with the couple talking about popular names when Ripa was born in 1970. Names for girls were listed as Kimberly, Lisa, and Jennifer, causing Kelly to note that she was almost named Kim. Male names were listed as Michael, David, and James.
For the celebration, Mark and Kelly donned black-and-white outfits. Turning to her spouse, Ripa mused, “In honor of my birthday, you wear your pants that were 300 pounds.”
However, Mark decided to save the best moment for last. Before the episode drew to a close, A huge cake was rolled out, with vanilla icing, chocolate sprinkles, and a whale on top: Carvel’s famous Fudgie character. This caused Ripa to ask if the whole thing was an ice cream cake.
Mark expressed, “Happy birthday from all of us here at Live and at home,” as he cut the cake. Ripa then took his face and thanked him with a kiss.
