On this season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, Whitney Way Thore really wants to honor and remember her mother. Babs Thore may be gone, but she certainly isn’t forgotten.
Season 11 revolves around how the Thores handled Babs’ absence. As viewers can see, her death was especially hard on her husband, Glenn. But even so, Whitney and her brother Hunter are determined to keep their father’s spirits up.
So how exactly will Glenn react to a party with a Babs theme?
Whitney Way Thore wants to honor Babs with a costume party
On Instagram, TLC teased a clip from tonight’s upcoming episode. And it seems like there’s a party underway at the Thore house.
In the clip, Whitney produces a box of items and reveals her big idea to her friends. She wants everyone to come dressed as a version of her mom. The TLC star takes Babs’ wedding dress from a box and asks if her friend will wear it to the party.
The friend hesitates at first, unsure that she will be able to fit into the wedding gown. However, she’s clearly delighted that Whitney asked her to wear such a meaningful outfit.
“I’m just ridiculously honored that she wanted me to wear her mom’s wedding dress,” the friend says in a confessional. “The love that Glenn and Babs shared in their marriage is really inspiring to Isaiah and I and it feels really cool to be able to represent them in that way at the surprise party for Glenn.”
However, not every fan thought that was a great move.
“I don’t understand how she thinks it’s okay to have someone wear her mom’s wedding dress. If I was Glenn I would be upset. Let Babs rest in peace. ❤️” one Instagram user wrote in the comments.
“This is odd… Trying very hard not to judge here but can’t she just let her mom rest and let her dad grieve?” another viewer added. “I mean, I could get behind a small get together, making her mom’s favorite recipes but the wedding dress is too much.”
There’s plenty more to come this season
On top of the Babs-themed party, fans definitely have a lot of opinions on the content of Season 11. Before the season began, Whitney teased that fans would get a chance to meet her long-lost half-sister Angie. While fans were largely excited at first, many believe Whitney could be exploiting Angie.
Either way, there’s plenty of more episodes left in the season. Anything could happen next.
