Whoopi Goldberg recently got people talking after sharing that fans would be surprised by her paycheck on The View. Since then, Megyn Kelly recently shared her reaction to the story during her podcast series. However, there was one thing that Kelly wasn’t sure about.

Goldberg has had a career spanning decades as a comedian and actress. However, many know her best as a co-host on The View. Serving as a moderator for the show’s hot topics, she joined the long-running talk show in 2007.
Recently, Goldberg made headlines following comments she made during a visit to the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast. At the time, she shared that she took the job on The View because she needed the money.
However, Goldberg also shared that fans would be “shocked” to know how much she actually makes on the show. Despite this, Goldberg shared that she was grateful for her role on the show.
At the time, Goldberg shared, “I look around every day before I leave my house and I see my family and I see pictures of folks and I think, ‘Oh, yeah, it’s good to have a job.’ And I come to work… A lot of people don’t have jobs right now, so I’m lucky.”
Since then, Megyn Kelly weighed in on Goldberg’s comments on her podcast series. For her part, Kelly poked fun at Goldberg downplaying the fact that she works in the media.
Kelly Wasn’t Entirely Sure If Goldberg Felt That Her Paycheck Was Too High Or Too Low
Kelly shared, “Speaking of people in our industry, Whoopi Goldberg would like you to know she gets a huge paycheck, huge over at ‘The View,’ but she’s still just a common person who works for a living. “I’m not sure where she’s going with this, but let’s listen together.”
Listening more, Kelly wasn’t entirely sure if Goldberg was saying her paycheck was too big or too small. As she shared, “I can’t totally tell there. She’s suggesting it’s incredibly large or incredibly small. But Yashar Ali, independent journalist, is reporting that he did reporting on Whoopi not long ago and she was getting paid $6 million a year.”
Either way, Kelly expressed, “So, if she’s lamenting it’s too strong… [or] it’s too low, she’s a fool. And if she’s bragging that it’s too big, she’s unlikable. I mean, either way, this is not a great comment.”
As Kelly continued, she dragged Goldberg was claiming that “she understands the plight of working people” and was “just a working girl” herself. She also took issue with the idea that Goldberg understands what it’s like for a lot of people out there. As she put it, “I don’t think she does know. I don’t think she knows a thing.”
