Megyn Kelly has shared stories with audiences through a number of different outlets. Recently, she discussed the current state of affairs for one network in particular. In fact, at one point, she got surprisingly blunt about the network in comparison to another.
Megyn Kelly Previously Worked For Fox News Before Launching Her Own Podcast Series
Kelly is a journalist, attorney, and political commentator. She currently hosts her namesake talk show and podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, which first came out in 2020.
Kelly previously worked at Fox News from 2004 to 2017, working on programs like America Live. She also briefly anchored her own NBC News show, Megyn Kelly Today, from 2017 to 2018.
Recently, Kelly joined News24’s Paul Murray on his show. At the time, they discussed the current state of CNN hosts, noting that things have changed since the addition of a Trump ally.
For her part, Kelly felt that the network has become more fair to Trump since Mark Thompson became CEO in 2023. However, she’s not sure if the network will change in a more meaningful way. As she explained, “They’ve been slightly more fair since that guy took over than they were in the Jeff Zucker years, but it’s still terrible. They still obviously lean far left. Their coverage and their story selection reflect that; the audience knows that.”
Kelly Compared CNN To Her Former Employer As The Conversation Went On
Kelly also felt that, in her book, they weren’t quite “forgiven.” She continued, “They didn’t own it. These are the same anchors there. Am I suddenly supposed to think the Jake Tappers of the world are open-minded to Trump and his agenda?”
Feeling things were “too late,” Kelly surprisingly shared a few kind words toward her former employers. As she shared, “By the way, if you’re still a cable news watcher who wants a cable operation that’s more fair to Trump, you have it. They’re not going to leave Fox News.”
Later, Kelly then offered a blunt statement concerning CNN: “Just to give you one basic example, why are there so many homely people up and down the rundown of CNN to this day?” She continued, “Roger Ailes would never have allowed it!”
Kelly then claimed, “I’m just gonna say, people don’t want to look at that when they’re – they can look at anything! But CNN has to take itself super seriously; we’ve got a real journalist, and suddenly, you’re staring at Wolf Blitzer, ah!”
