President Donald Trump recently made an appearance at a college football game in Tennessee. At the time, however, he didn’t receive the best reception from all of the other attendees. Notably, similar incidents have taken place earlier this year.
President Donald Trump Appeared On The Jumbotron As The Tennessee Volunteers & The Texas Longhorns Faced Off
President Trump was previously elected on November 8, 2016, serving as the 45th president of the United States. He was elected for a second term on November 5, 2024, becoming the country’s 47th president.
Recently, the president made an appearance at a college football game in Tennessee. This was the clash between the Tennessee Volunteers and the Texas Longhorns at Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium.
The president first took part in a pregame Air Force One flyover at the stadium. He then took his seat next to gubernatorial candidate Marsha Blackburn.
As noted by Us Weekly, the announcer said over the intercom, “Ladies and gentlemen, the 45th president and 47th president of the United States — Donald J. Trump.” The president could be seen on the Jumbotron.
Things took a turn, however, when President Trump could be heard receiving boos amid positive cheers at the event. For his part, the president seemed undeterred at the teams played on.
Trump didn’t appear to endorse either team prior to the game. Ultimately, the Longhorns defeated the Volunteers 20-17.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian previously expressed concern about the disruptions Trump could bring to the game just by appearing in person. He shared, “In the fourth quarter, if he decides to leave early, your communication gets cut off and shuts down. ”
A Similar Incident Took Place Involving President Trump At The 2026 World Cup Final
Sarkisian continued, “A good friend of mine is Mario Cristobal. Last year, when they were playing Indiana in the national championship, they had the drive at the end of that game, they had no communications because he was leaving early before the game ended. And so you get no warning, it just cuts out. You’ve gotta be prepared for that.”
As the outlet noted, this wasn’t the first time Trump received a cold reception this year. During the 2026 World Cup Final, Trump could be seen clapping to Jennifer Hudson’s rendition of the U.S. national anthem on July 19 at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

As the cameras panned to him, the president could be audibly booed by the audience. A similar incident also reportedly took place when he appeared at Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs. For his part, Trump appeared to remain in good spirits, sharing that the game was “amazing” while speaking with reporters.
