Minnie Driver Gives Update Following ‘Really Bad Car Accident’

Actress Minnie Driver was recently in France while working on one of her shows. However, taking to social media, she shared that she got into an accident while in the country. During the share, she discussed what happened and what ultimately helped her, even saving her life, at the time.

Minnie Driver Was Recently In France While Working On Emily In Paris

As an actress, Driver is known for her work in a variety of films. These include Circle of Friends, Good Will Hunting, Grosse Pointe Blank, The Phantom of the Opera, Ella Enchanted, and Disney’s Tarzan.

In television, Driver is also known for her work in shows including Speechless, About a Boy, and Emily in Paris. Having joined the latter show during its fifth season, she recently spent time in France working on the show while working on its upcoming sixth season.

The actress recently shared that she had been involved in a car accident in the European country. In a post shared on Instagram, she could be seen lying in bed with a neck brace while at home in London.

As Driver shared her story, she claimed that she and a friend, Ben, were driving along a French country road. Things took a turn when their car was impacted by another vehicle travelling at speed and failed to stop at an intersection.

Driver shared, “We somehow walked out if … Well, we didn’t walk out of it, we crawled out of it, but we did get out of it alive.” She also shared that the crash was “not our fault.”

The Actress Thanked Many People For Their Help, Especially A Certain Van Driver

Discussing her injuries, Driver claimed that she endured a sprained neck. She also shared that she was left “in shock” and was “crying all the time.” However, she assured that she was still “fine.”

The actress also credited the car she and her friend were travelling in, which was an electric Kia EV2, for saving their lives. She shared, “The reason why I’m not dead is the car that we were driving. I’ve never been a crash before, but the 360-degree airbags are what saved our lives.”

The star also thanked a van driver who stopped and her and Ben before emergency responders came onto the scene. She shared, “I am so grateful to be alive. Thanks very much from me and my mate. And my family and the people who love me. Shout out to the van driver who stopped and helped us before the ambulances arrived. Special mention to the car who slowed down took in the scene and drove off without stopping.”

“I guess this is the Dao of the world, the light and the dark. My brain keeps replaying the crash, which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing. Weeping, too, feels good and helpful. Thank you to my friends, my family, all the people at work and especially my friend Ben and his family. I love you.”
